Dump sentimentality, Lovie. Go with the WRs Cutler trusts.
You saw all the drops. You saw the lack of fight for the ball (a Johnny Knox trademark). You saw the miscommunication with Williams. It's obvious to anyone with half the brains God gave a tapeworm that there are WRs on the Bears that Cutler trusts to make a play on the ball. And the top 3 are (and there really isn't anyone after this)
1. Earl Bennett
2. Dane Sazenbacher
3. Devin Hester
He has no rapport with Williams. Knox constantly fails him with either drops or letting a defender either pick-off or knock down a ball. It's time for Lovie to get over his silly "loyalty" to players where the play has to basically shit himself on the field before he replaces them and LISTEN TO YOUR QUARTERBACK!
We have to be the only team in the league where the coaches do NOT put the QB's preferred WRs on the field. I'm sure if they asked Jay, he's say "Give me Earl when he comes back and this Sazenbacher kid. They get open and make plays on the ball. I trust them". I mean it's so obvious. And Hester actually can make a play once he catches the ball.
Knox blinds everyone with stats. He has a good YPC ratio. But he can only catch balls when there's noone around him (not on Sunday, obviously). He can't make plays when the ball isn't perfectly thrown or when defenders are on him. I'm sick of Knox.
Give Cutler the targets he trusts and stop with this nonsense. Don't listen to Martz, listen to your QB....for once. You got rid of Aromashadu, who Cutler loved, but you gave him Sazenbacher. LET THEM PLAY!
