So proud of Matt Forte
He didn't get the contract he wanted (bet he's glad he didn't now), but he didn't pout.
They wouldn't hand the ball off to him, but he didn't pout.
He simply went about his business and had a monster game (pretty much our only offense) to carry our team to a must win.
This guy should be a rare Bear-For-Life and JA had better pay this guy NOW before he decides to just go on the open market....

JA said contract wont be discussed until after the season is done.

JA is a donkeys backside. Forte is a stud, give him a whole and he will make something out of it. Again he proved he could shed blocks when he's got his head of steam going, and can make huge plays when given a chance. 1st 200 yard game; wtg Matt.

Glad to see him have his first 200 yard running game. He added another 23 yards on 4 passes too. 228 total yards or 72% of our total offense from Mr non-elite. JA's an idoit for not getting his deal done before the season began which he virtually promised him that he would do but unfortunately for Forte the asshat has the upper hand. If Forte doesn't accept the Bears offer JA will just franschise him and give him one big payday while trying to either work out a long term deal or a trade.
He's be a fool to trade him but with as little respect as he's shown for offensive producers and as little as he wants to pay them I wouldn't put it past him. Great game though. Everytime they gave him some daylight he took advantage of it.
I hope this game taught Martz as lesson althouth I doubt it. Don't go into panic passing mode whenever they stuff the run. Just adjust the blocking assignments and keep running. Forte is not the kind of back who will consistently get you 4 yard on every carry. That's Bell and Barber's game. Forte is more likely to gain 20 yards in 10 carries then break a 30 yard run off. He's a weapon. Not a plugger.

actually I think he's had at least a 40 yard run in every game he's played, except the one where he wasn't given a chance to(GB). But he's not elite, b/c elite guys don't break off huge runs like that to pad their ypr average.

I guess they made a mistake electing Gale Sayers to the HOF then. He'd run 10 times for little or no gain and then break off two or three big gainers or take a screen pass to the house. In that way Forte is a lot more like Sayers than he's like Payton but the guy who he really reminds me of is Chuck Foreman from the Vikes. Remember him?

Now THAT was an ELITE performance

Very proud of Matt Forte too! He just showed JA what a moron he is for not giving him an extension. He also proved Martz wrong too! Give Forte the ball and good things will happen.

Ahem, the currrent and politcally correct word to describe his play is an "uber performance".
Not everyone thinks he's elite, LOL.
