I said it at the end of the game, he looked very upset for a guy that just won a game.
Like Vermeil said "Martz needs to be anchored and he is a good OC." I think that anchor just dropped on his head. I think we'll be more of a running team from here on out. (crossing fingers and knocking on wood).

J'Marcus Webb, he is playing better and better every week and he looked good in this game. A young player who is developing someone send that idea to Johnny Knox.
Chris Williams, after looking terrible against Green Bay he played much better, but this is the inconsistency that has made him a borderline bust.
Roberto Garza, steady and solid.
Chris Spencer, he looked physical and strong and I thought he played really well especially considering that he had a broken hand for the entire 2nd half.
Lance Louis, I really like his run blocking he is physical and nasty and he looked okay pass protecting out at RT. He saved the day after Omiyale failed for the 1 millionth time.
Frank Omiyale, is a total joke and we should forward a copy of Ole Yeller to Lovie so he knows what to do.

There is no way that this defense can work without an impact in the passing game from Peppers and Idonije.
So far they have been non-existent in the last 2 games and it is showing in our defense ability to handle the pass.
Is this an anomaly, or is this a sign of age setting in?

Spencer broke his hand from what I read. I hope E. Williams starts and Louis at RT next week. PLEASE NO OMIYALE !!!

webb played good against a garbage dline featuring one good player that made OMG look like um OMG lol. But I like how Louis blocked Johnson once Omg was benched. Any other team OMG would have been cut after year one....

And I would agree. It was more of a phew, glad that's over. When you get a chance pull up the Bears Board and listen to the post games with Lovie, Forte and Cutler. Lovie as usual brushes over it but Cutler knows what it's all about. Now that he beoming a bit more media friendly he's actually fun to listen to.

I wonder how many teams in the future will be able to make that statment?
Rivera has somthing to build around.
Sure is a lot different team than the one we faced last season. I'm happy for Chico. He's got the makings of a good team there and for my part I think he outcoached Lovie today. We just got the breaks at the right times. Newton is one hell of a lot better pro than I ever thought he'd be out of the gate. He looks better now than he did in college.

Webb tends to look good as long as he can lock up on guys and take them around back. It's moves to the inside that he seems to struggle with but yeah today he was getting the job done.
CWill looked better today because they didn't have him pulling and trying to block someone like Clay Mattews or trying to handle a 350lb NT. Hopefully the diagram for that scheme went in the trash. CWill isn't ever gonna live up to his status as a first round pick but I'll settle for what he seems to be which is a decently athlectic OG who knows how to pass block, pull and take on guys in the second level.
Garza is doing a better job than I ever expected from him. He's steady and a better pass blocker at OC than Kruetz had become during the last year or two. No botched snaps so he keeps earning his keep weekly. Pretty small keep too.
Spencer looked OK this week since he wasn't handling a 350 lb DT either. Maybe he is a better OG than an OC. Not great but passable today in a workman sort of way.
OMG should be taken out and shot, then buried, dug up again and then electrocuted...........twice! Just play Louis at least he knows how to get in peoples way. That boy has a mean streak in him big time. He dosn't like to get pushed around.
Good run blocking against a shitty run stopping team so all in all a fair performance.
