Another big come from behind victory for the Lions (against the Cowgirls... ha ha ha... sweeeeeet) ... Kitties 4-0 for the first time since... um, help me out here...
Huge production from their O, racking up almost 34 pts per game... so exactly how does the Bears D recover from their showing vs the Panthers and bring the Lions back down to earth to build a winning streak of their own?

Trouble is these rejeuvenated running OL (Omiyale excluded) and Forte are going to come up against a tougher test in the form of Suh, Fairley and co. It's going to get harder to manage the clock if by some stroke of luck we've built a similar lead.
The way we've been playing, we won't win. It might be uglier then the GB win. We need to run the ball well, and keep their O off the field. Our D cannot cover wr's in general, how the hell are we going to cover CJ? He's getting triple/quadruple teamed and still coming down w/the ball. We cannot stop that. We will have to get pressure on Matthews and actually come down w/a lot of sacks early to make him shakey and throw a few bad passes. Our OL will not be able to stop Suh 5-1, and he's got help also. Not sure what we are going to do on O to keep that D off balanced. Best I can think of is quick slants and throws to Forte out of the backfield. Guarantee you that D will not be giving up 200 yards rushing.
We learned we have ball control up against a gunslinger.
And ALOTTA ball control at that.
No way to expect 200+ from Forte every week.
Be fun to see what Barber does if he ever shows up.
I think the Lions will be playing us at a good time... pumped from the comeback win in America's Armpit and at home to a team with weaknesses that on paper the Lions are as best placed as they've ever been to exploit.
The Lions have won eight straight regular season games including the end of last season. I know we've gone 1-2 against three straight 2010 playoff teams, but I think this matchup will be as tough as anything we've faced.
Good to see the Lions and the Queens switch places in the division, but this is going to be an uphill battle without the likes of Bennett, Carimi and Harris, such is our lack of depth.
Oh, and the answer for the Bears is the same as it's ever been... win the battles in the trenches... Peppers needs to give Stafford nightmares and the OL and coaching staff need to find a way of releasing Forte from the backfield attentions of Suh and co. Today was a major improvement from Tice in terms of blocking schemes and the OL (minus Omiyale) in terms of blocking, plus Martz in terms of running the damn ball. Just got to hope that we're in contention for long enough that Martz doesn't revert to previous form.
If we could get Barber into the mix we could go up against Deeeeetroit at their home.

We couldn't stop Steve Smith with Tim Jennings today and they're about the same size, so how are we gonna stop a 6'5" 236 lb Calvin Johnson with the same 5'8" 185 CB? I start building my defensive game plan around that thought tonight. I hope Marinelli's a night owl because that would keep me up all night long.
After that I'm gonna be thinking about how I don't want another RB averaging 8+ yards per carry like DWill did today or even 5+ yards per carry like Grant did last week. That problem should be under Brian Urlacher's pillow tonight since most of those yards came through the middle where he plays.
And finally our fearless OC and Mike Tice should be looking for a combination of things that keep Suh from trying to take off Jay Cutler's head at the shoulders like he tried to do last year.
That should keep the coaching staff and team captains pretty busy this week.
Basically we need to operate a ball control attack and keep the ball away from Detroit anywhere past mid-field. From there on in Calvin Johnson is a big time threat to put up 6 points. The only way we win this game is by scoring over 30 points because after what I saw today we're gonna have a hell of a time keeping them under 30. We also usually play like shit in Detroit so they have that going for them to.
The way they've been playing the last four weeks our best bet is to hope they get overf confident and screw up at home kinda like we've been doing. It's either that or hope that Stafford, Best and Johnson all have the worst games of their career at the same time.
