Danieal Manning Commits Dumbest Penalty In NFL History............

I know this should go in the Rivals Forum but I just had to put it here to begin with. After you watch it you'll be glad this didn't happen here. I'll set the scene.

Pittsburgh is attemtping a 30 yard FG at the end of the 1st half with 7 seconds left and Houston up 10 zip. Manning breaks through and blocks the kick and Jonathan Joseph picks picks it up at the 39 yard line and races 61 yards untouched for the score putting the Texans up 17-0 at the half...............wrong. Watch!

Danieal Manning commits one of the worst penalties you’ll ever see

It turned out that the Texans were able to survive it, but just at the end of the first half, a Danieal Manning (notes) penalty erased a Texans touchdown from the scoreboard.

What was it that earned Manning the punitive yellow fabric? Well, he apparently felt like kicker Shaun Suisham (notes) was a threat to chase down cornerback Johnathan Joseph (notes). So he blocked Suisham in the back.

And that's how you make seven points disappear. You act like the athleticism of Shaun Suisham is something that needs to be addressed.

The Texans eventually won the game 17-10 but man talk about going from hero to goat in less than 10 seconds. A lousy placekicker is chasing a CB who has at least 10 yards on him and you think the PK is actually gonna catch the guy? This one just has to win the "Come on Man" Award of the week. LMAO, at least it didn't happen on Hesters return today.

Yeah I see how it happens you get amped up you start running your boys up ahead with the ball and you run across a Steeler and want to give him a pop for good measure. We all know Manning has some in game disciplinary issues and part of the reason he became a Texan.

What's pathetic is that right after he shoves the guy down he goes into that little dance of his totally oblivious to the fact that he'd even been flagged. I'd have given up a nights sleep to be a fly on the wall of that Houston locker room at half time.

To me that one was a very questionable call. The push happened almost immediately after the punt left Masthay's foot but the flag was never thrown until after Knox caught the ball and began his return. Roll it if you recorded it and watch. The flag comes out near Knox not back where the infraction took place. It looks to me like the ref hadn't decided whether it was even a penalt worth calling until he saw a big play about to happen.

In Mannings case the play was way beyond Suisham anyway. He could never have caught up with the guy. It looked to me like Manning just shoved him for the hell of it like, "get out of my way". But your point is well taken. Both players cost their teams 6 points.

Ah, I know this move as well that's the oh crap I just did something stupid and probably will get a flag but let me dance and celebrate to let them know I meant to do it and it was awesome move.

I used to employ that.
