Bears work out Kristick along with Tinoisamoa

Pisa Tinoisamoa was not the only linebacker the Chicago Bears took a look at on Wednesday at Halas Hall.
According to an NFL source, the Bears also put Keaton Kristick through a workout.
The Chicago Tribune reported on Tuesday the Bears would bring the veteran Tinoisamoa in for a look. He spent the previous two seasons with the team and started 10 games last year at strong-side linebacker, but there is concern about his health following multiple knee surgeries.
Kristick, who was born in Naperville, played at Oregon State and was an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers last season. The 6-3, 234-pounder appeared in six games with the 49ers last season. Kristick suffered an ankle injury in the team’s final preseason game and received an injury settlement from the 49ers last season.

I'd rather have a LB that can blitz but is in the wrong system than some shitty 3rd rate like Pisa or Roach.
Pisa isn't a third rate player and neither is Roach. Between the two Pisa is the better player but he also has trouble staying healthy. Don't forget we have Iwuh and J.T. Thomas who we won't see anything of until next year. We could use more LB help but it's not gonna come in the form of a blitzbacker. Not in this defense.
Now I'll tackle that statement of yours that I underlined. TE's don't make many plays against us?????? Henry, what position does Jermichael Finley play and how many TD's did he have against us in the Packer game; (7/85yds/3tds). How about the Panthers; Greg Olsen? (5/50yds/1td), Jeremy Shockey (2/41yds/td called back) , Jimmy Graham (6/79yds/0tds), Tony Gonzales (5/72yds/0tds). In 4 games weve given up 327 yards and 4 tds, and nearly a 5th, to tight ends. That's an average of 82 yards and 1 TD per game. With all due respect you either don't watch or you just shot that off the top of your head.
Tight ends have killed us so far this season and three of those TD's came against Briggs man when he had the cover. With Pisa back we can sit Briggs on those plays and let Pisa cover. He's much better at it.

Honestly, how are you taking exactly what I say and reading it the opposite? I stated the TE's are amazing on this team (reading between teh lines: they torch our asses, I've known that since Tony Gonzalez played against us). Sorry, Pisa is a shell of a shell of the former player he once was. Roach is absolutely nothing special, and i'd bet a dollar to a dime, that even if those two are gone next year, if we have to resort to JT or Iwuh, we're screwed. This isn't the early/mid part of the last decade, in which LBs around Urlacher were guaranteed a few good years (Warrick Holdman, Roosevelt Colvin). And yes, I'm fully aware we're not going to have LBs that mostly blitz (which is why Colvin took his game to NE for a few SB's), but I'd rather have a player with that dynamism he had, as opposed to the nameless LB that stand with Briggs and Urlacher. If Pisa comes back and TEs slow the hell down on us, i'll take back what i said about him, but until then...

My bad. I did read it wrong. The phrasing seemed to be saying that the TE's make few plays, not our guys in coverage. Sorry! Now back to the topice at hand, LOL.
Lovie's defense depends on a pass rush from the front four with 7 guys in coverage in it's basic form. We do blitz occasionally but it comes from the Safeties or NB as much as it comes from the LB's. Urlacher is about the only one we see doing it with and frequency and he fakes it as much as he does it. As long as Lovie Smith is HC I doubt will darft or sign Rushbackers like Rosie was.
Pisa may not be what he once was but he's a damn site better in coverage than either Briggs or Roach.
