More Hestery - Wins 10th ST Player of Week
Hester wins 10th special-teams player of week award
In news that should surprise no one, Chicago Bears receiver/returner Devin Hester has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after setting an NFL record with his 11th career punt return touchdown.
Hester totaled 142 return yards in last Sunday's 34-29 victory over the Carolina Panthers, including his 69-yard TD return.
This marks the 10th time that Hester has won the weekly special-teams honor, the most ever by a return man.
"We really had no idea he would become the best returner ever to play the game as he has," general manager Jerry Angelo announced Wednesday on the Bears' team-controlled website. "He had such a passion to be great, and that's the one thing a lot of people don't know about Devin. Devin's a great worker. He has a tremendous passion to be a great player and that's one reason we drafted him. We felt like he was going to do everything he could do to be the best he could be and that he had too much talent not to become a very good player."
