Chicago Bears How hard is it to build an OFFENSIVE LINE ?

The Wide Receivers I will leave up to you.

Where did the 1985 BEARS OL come from?

    1983 : DRAFT

    MARK BORTZ

    TOM THAYER

JIMBO COVERT ... I want this to sink in for awhile ... thats ... 3 in a draft.

KEITH VAN HORNE was drafted #1 in 1981

JAY HILGENBERG was undrafted in 1981

Took 3 years to put this together ...

which most talking heads in the media will agree was one of the best OL's ever.

THATS ... what DAA BEARRSSE can do when they set their minds to it.

yea, but that requires actually DRAFTING OL. Why do that when you can sign guys like Pace and Omiyale?

That's because we had a GM and a Personnel Director who new how to build with draft choices. Jerry Angelo doesn't have a clue. He signs washed up FA's when he should be drafting and when that fails he doesn't get the capable vets that he needs. He's living proof of the "Peter Principle".

We've already built an "offensive" ( plug your nose ) line. And in a related story :

Here's an old clip from a post game interview with Tampa Bay's first HC John McKay after they got blown out... again :
Reporter : Coach what do you think of your teams' execution ?
McKay : I'd be all for it.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I thought you just draft 50 offensive tackles and oversized TEs and line them up on all spots on the line. Keep the D guessing.

    No?

The Packers lost two starting OL in the last two weeks. They had quality backups ready to step in and contribute and they did so. The Bears starters can't even play the first series of downs in a game, when they should be well prepared for the plays that are being called, without false-start penalties and other mistakes.

that was emBEARessing last night, it is time for us to clean house, good bye angelo, martz, tice, lovie. our o-line webb, frank the lead foot. Our defence, did you see what happened once Peppers got hurt? we had nothing. Tillman probly did the best job covering megatron than anyone yet this year, but our safeties wow, never seen Chris Harris play as bad as he did that night. Please cut Frank Omyfuckinggod he does less than nothing out there, maybe martz and tice would look better if the pieces were there for them but years of bad drafts have taken our talent pool to nothing, Huge props to Jay Cutler and the new kid 18 sanzanbacer.

And that is the biggest inditement against this F/O and coaching staff. our starters play worse then GB's backups.

If JA took a year and did with OL what he does w/DE's it would be slightly less of a train wreck. Webb is not the answer at LT. Did you notice towards the end how the DE was split FAR outside of Webb and Webb still got beat streetball style. I'll take Carimi and all his rookie mistakes all day at LT vs that.
