Martz is the key here. If the front-office intends to keep him around then I don't think Cutler is the QB for his 'offense'. Now if Martz was willing to sit down with Cutler and say "What offense works best for you? What plays should we keep and which ones should we scrap?", like Carolina is doing with Cam Newton, then they make they keep Cutler around because he's the best QB we've seen around here in my 40+ years as a fan. If we do change OC's I believe Jay should be a part of that selection process and have some input. The offense needs to be built around him.

I think you are all missing my point.
Will Jay WANT to stick around when his contract is up after next year, or do you think he will look for greener pastures with a real offensive line

I touched on that, I don't think he would he's playing for his childhood team and he's already pushed his way out of one city. I don't think that would bode well for him moving forward to force another organization's hand, would he be wanted? Sure but would be damaging his reputation.

It sure beats his body. Also it's a tough road to hoe trying to forge a legacy here. After the league witnesses his pounding week after week it's not going to damage his rep as either a tough guy or a guy who stuck it out esp the years of crap around him.

I like the idea of trading Briggs now if there is an o-lineman out there worthwhile. With Carimi back and one more guy who could stop the pass rush we'd might be able to build off that next draft and have a descent shot at something.

nah i wouldn't unless JA and Lovie and his band of merry idiots are still here. if we bring a new GM and coach that maybe Jay has some say in then i could see him staying. He is still young he just needs a good coaching staff that he buys in to.

Real nice predicament this bull shit excuse for an organization has put this team in.
We're actually contemplating letting go of Cutler so that he can excel because it will never happen here in his career.
We should have just kept ORTON and GROSSMAN.....and just ruin the shit we already had.
Angelo has had 3 fkin' YEARS to protect Cutler, and get him the weapons he needs to succeed. And he has done absolutely JACK SHIT.
They not only need to FIRE Angelo and his minions....they need to send them all on a trip together on the same plane.
FKin Horse Shit "Management"!!! ..... they ALL need to take a 1000 foot walk off a 999 foot pier.

First of all it would be great if Martz would do that but it isn't his style. Remember that article that said, "you don't hire Mike Martz to fit in" and that's exactly what we got. Mike Martz's offense played Mike Martz's way. If he adjusts at all he does it very grudgingly.
I've been saying for quite some time that firing Martz and bringing Jeremy Bates would make the most sense. It's doubtful that Cutler would have a problem with that since Bates was his OC in Denver the year he made the pro-bowl. Bates knowns how to build an offense, game plan, and play call around Cutler's strength's. All Martz has done so far is play to his weaknesses.
Jay Cutler is not a 7 step drop back pocket passer like Kurt Warner. He's and Aaron Rodger/John Elway type of QB who can run and make plays with his feet as well as his arm. He plays best when he has the ability to do it his way and we all saw that Monday night. For the first time we basically said screw the system and ran the team the best way he knew how to do. I'm sure Martz wasn't pleased but we should all be thrilled.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
