This Entire Season Has Become A False Start.................
This entire season has become a false-start

They can’t stop the run. They can’t pressure with their front four. They can’t get home on the blitz. They can’t get their safeties to play safety.
The Bears’ defense looks done.
The Bears’ offense, of course, started done, and got worse -- if that’s possible -- in a miserable, painful, season-ending performance in Detroit on Monday night.
Miraculously, the offense got the Bears a 10-7 halftime lead, but it proved to be just another false-start. And when the offensive line wasn’t false-starting, it was giving up sacks and generally killing Jay Cutler.
The line turned so bad in the second half that Frank Omiyale gave up a sack and was benched. Then J’Marcus Webb gave up a sack after all of his false-starts. Your offensive tackles, ladies and gentlemen.
The offense is a mess. The Lions gave the Bears three first downs on penalties on a drive in the first quarter, and the Bears still used all three of their timeouts before the end of the period. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Get a load of this: One wasted timeout came on a dead play. No snap. Time was running out. Again.
The last timeout was burned when Lovie Smith lost another challenge.
That’s bad coaching. Bad organization. Bad decisions.
Bad players, too. The Bears committed nine false starts. Nine. That’s crazy. You have to try to be that bad.
Meanwhile, they also couldn’t get less than a yard on a fourth down. What do they do in practice all week?
But the defense, which should be the foundation of this team, has deteriorated. It looks old. It can’t carry a disastrous offense anymore.
They can’t execute the scheme. They can’t execute the basics. They have lost much of their discipline, not to mention the game-deciding turnovers they rely on.
Lovie Smith’s beloved Tampa-2 defense is designed expressly top prevent the big plays.
Big plays have killed the Bears this season the way they killed the Bears in Detroit.
Calvin Johnson caught a bomb behind the safeties. Wasn’t Chris Harris supposed to stop this nonsense?
The entire defense was gashed for an 88-yard killer run by Jahvid Best, a play on which he cut back to find a hole, natch. Tell you what, against the Bears defense, the cutback has become the new slant.
To think, the embarrassing offense won the time of possession in a big way thanks to some idiotic Lions penalties. The defense should’ve been rested.
More like rest in peace.
It’s bad all the way around, and that includes special teams. Late in the fourth quarter, Chris Conte false-started while playing fullback for punter Adam Podlesh. Wait, shouldn’t he be the one guy to know the snap count?
Look, when Dave Toub’s guys screw up like that, you know it’s over. The game, the season, the everything.
A lot of people need to be cut from the team.
Or fired. Or deported. Jailed. Something.
The general manager who neglected to get NFL-caliber starters or decent depth. The head coach who can’t make his team look like it actually has been coached. Both coordinators can go.
As for the roster, more players deserve to go than deserve to stay.
Thing is, the Lions aren’t as good as their 5-0 record would suggest. They didn’t look dominant. They looked better than the Bears, but at this point, who doesn’t?
Bigger thing is, while there might be questions about the Lions, there seems to be no answer for the Bears.
And so, the Bears and the NBA welcome you to hockey season.

I don't know what more can be said than is said here. If a lot of them feel the way I do Chicago Bears fans don't even want to watch this team anymore. It's just too disappointing to once again see this team regress for a near Super Bowl appearance to a .500 football team again.
Nothing will change until the people responsible for that are gone. To me that includes one GM, one HC and most of his staff, and about one half of the players on the team. If we're gonna slide anyway the house cleaning might just as well commence immediately. I don't know about you guys but I'm just tired of the delusions that this is a good football team and coaching staff.

Those are the best lines ever to sum up this season....and for some reason as I was reading I could hear Bores and Bernstein doing the commentary of this article....I think rosenbloom is a cover for one of them.

Some people may not like his smart alecky style but I like the way he doesn't beat around the bush and simply says what we all see and know anyway. He's the kid in the fable "The Emperor's New Clothes" who cried out, "But He's Not Wearing Anything, He's Naked". That's about as much as we'll get out of managements slant on things too.

Wanna know how many tackles Okoye, Toeaina, and Melton had vs. the Lions ? Zero: as in - 0. Not 1 guy even fell down in the right place and even tripped a guy for a tackle. That's like a center not getting 1 rebound in one basketball game. And these guys are our starters ? Did ya hear Anthony Adams' name mentioned even once also ? In-frickin-credible. That's just a lack of effort, yet these guys wanna be known as 'pros'. Just a buncha dogs collecting paychecks, because of a coach they don't fear, nothing more.
He's right. 95% of the coaches, the GM, and at least half of this "football" team needs to be gone ( and that includes some name guys whose best years are behind them). Can respect the past, there's some great things to look back on ..... but that's just it : the past is the past and it's time to look ahead.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Whatever "athleticism" Webb has as a LT it is mitigated by his complete LACK of technique and awareness. I don't agree that Carimi loses out at LT b/c he has "less athleticism". His footwork is superior and it's not a god-damn decathalon out there-I'll take his rook mistakes over Webb getting posterized every time.
As far as the D goes Briggs plays like he wants to sit out. Melton has done little and Adams looks out of shape. If one area Rod could motivate I thought it would be the D-line. The line is deep enough and platooned that I don't want to hear the "they're tired" excuses considering our T.O.P Monday night. Merriweather is a Kevin Payne clone and should play SS if they are going to play him NOT FS.
Improvement can be made but some guys should sit, one (Omiyale) should be cut, and positions partially re-worked.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

you guys really got fooled by JA bullshit that Webb is NFL calibur talent. Ive been saying all offseason this guy starts you will see a disaster
and the fact Omiyale is still on the roster shows they are content with what they have

One on that run by Best and two where he failed to cover a TE in the endzone)
Improvement can be made but some guys should sit, one (Omiyale) should be cut, and positions partially re-worked. (the fact that it's Thursday and it hasn't happened says it all. The either feel like they have no one any better on the PS, no one better that's an idle FA, or JA simply refuses to admit his mistake.)
Blocking the wrong man and letting his man get a free shot, standing up from his stance three times in a game after the defense jumped, a complete inability to defeat an inside bull rush, poor techinque against the outside rush (slow setting up, can't keep contact and take his man around the pocket) are just a few the shortcomings I've noticed. He doesn't have the goods to be an NFL LT now andhave my doubts if he ever will. There's a reason why we attempted to sign Bushrod and now we all know why.
After we drafted Carimi I was amazed when they said he would play RT and Webb LT. I thought it was foolish then and it looks even more foolish now and there's nothing they can do about it. Carimi is hurt and who knows when he'll return and how close to 100% he'll be to begin with. He's also had zero time at LT since camp and damn little even then. How much more raw stupidity are we gonna see out of this coaching staff. If they were coaching baseball would they try to turn a left handed .300 hitter into a right handed hitter?
Briggs is playing like he's got one foot out the door already and the Dline is always playing pass first so they become vulnerable against the run. This defense is based on proper gap play and they aren't executing it even on pass rushes. With this bunch we should be getting at least 3-4 sacks per game and a dozen of more hits and hurries and it just ain't happening. Meriweather is just what his rep says he is. An undiscipline head hunter.
I can't figure out why they haven't cut OMG. The guys a 7 year vet whose proven that there isn't one position on the Oline that he's competent at! Does anyone really think he'll improve? WTF are they thinking? Anyone on the PS should be better than he is so why not give them their shot?
The entire coaching staff and the front office fail to see and address these problems so this season will turn out to be another disaster compared to last. I think everyone has said that if we fall back to a .500 team again a change needs to be made across the board. That time has come.

First of all, I am ashamed of all of you who are embarrassed to be fans of this team. You may not not have stated as much in so many words, but you all certainly meant it. I will be the first one to admit that this front office and the whole and pony show need to be uprooted and a new host of seeds planted in their places. Hell, I said this in another thread: Virginia McCaskey can't die soon enough, because when that happens, then someone who is wealthy beyond our wildest dreams will become the principal owner of the Chicago Bears and will take the franchise and organization into an entirely different direction.
I look at the problems we have seen this year and see some obviously teams with our personnel. First, the offensive line, which, Paul, after I messaged you last week saying I thought it was better than it was last year at this time, is actually worse now. So far, Cutler is averaging being sacked 3.6 times per game, having been sacked 18 times through the first five games. The defensive line is putting a lot of undue pressure on the secondary because it is not performing up to the potential that we all thought it had (consider that the Bears were the league's leading defense in the preseason). Lastly, the secondary outside of Charles Tillman is getting torched; we've seen this twice this season. I don't believe, unlike you all seem to believe, that this team isn't trying. I think that the coaches are doing every thing they possibly can to get ahead with the dire lack of talent the team has. I will not give up on this team this season. I expect them to go out this Sunday and play with pride and courage and win a hard-fought battle against the Vikings. If we cannot come away with a win there, then I'll concede that the season is lost. But I will remain a Bears homer down here in my humble abode in Tennessee until the day I die.

Dags it's been 35 years since I've lived in Chicago and I spent about 15 of those in an around Green Bay the rest here and no one has pulled me away from being a Bears fan yet. Not even my daughters who are staunch Packer fans. But I refuse to be a "homer". When it's black and shaped like an upside down heart with a stem I call that a spade and that's what I'm doing now. Maybe the Bears front office, coaching staff and players need to do the same because right now they suck!
