Bears vs. Vikings.
Well, what is there to say...??? The most obvious issue with this team is still an issue: the O-Line. With our 5th line-up in as many weeks, I fully expect Cutler to be running for his life again. With that being said, Forte will carry the offense AGAIN as Cutler will have little time to wait for routes to develop. Aside from the fact that our WR's are garbage. An offense mired THIS deep in its own ineptitude will takes years to properly fix.
The defense is even suspect in this game. Can they slow Adrian Peterson...??? Will the safeties be able to cover the field...??? Will the front four get ANY pressure...??? Stay tuned for these answers and more. Same Bears time, same Bear channel.
Special teams. Again, field position will make or break this game. Even against the Vikings, I do not see the offense ripping off very many big plays.
The ONLY positive thought I can muster at this point, is, due to the fact that they are playing at home, there SHOULD be way less penalites...!!!
Aside from that:
Bears: 13
Vikings: 21

Could easily be lost and could easily be won. I have no idea anymore how the game will even be played. My formula for beating Detroit was to control the football and not give Stafford many opportunities to hook up with Calvin Johnson. We held on to the ball for 39 minutes but it only took a few seconds for Johnson and Best to go the length of the field for big scores.
Will the defense finally find a way to prevent the big play? Unless the front 7 have relearned the basics of gap control and Wright and Conte play far better than they did against NO we're screwed on defense again.
That's leaves an offense which will no doubt struggle to protect Cutler again. J'Marcus Webb must be having Jared Allen nightmares by now and who knows how a right side of Louis and EWill (or Spencer) will hold up for 60 minutes. More importantly did Mike Martz actually hear what Jay Cutler indirectly asked him to do or is he just humoring him by agreeing and will go right on with his insane game plans anyway?
If I had the answers to those questions maybe I could make a reasonable prediction but all I'm willing to predict about Sunday is that the home team will be wearing the dark colored jerseys.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I just hope the field is in decent condition...

How long is it going to be until Gabe Carimi returns, soulman? I had heard that it would be at the end of October at the earliest.

Wow, the Bears showed up for a game. Granted it did not begin very well as they had to burn a time-out on the 2nd friggin' play of the game, but, we did prove that Minnesota was (1-4) for a reason. Sure the Bears won, but, all the while in the back of my head I was asking: "...would this be happening if they played the Packers or Lions...???...". In all honesty, my answer is "probably not". THOSE are the teams that the Bears should beat. Or, if not beat, at least make a game of it...
Yes, it was a victory, but, an empty victory at that...

I'm not sure about that since mistakes were seemingly corrected this week and the team made a bounce back statement in a nationally televised game. I think it would have been an empty victory if they won by the skin of their teeth and they looked as bad as they did vs Detroit.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

But there is a reason the Vikings are (1-5). I mean, really, McNabb was playing like crap...!!!
Also, it is to be seen if someone has permanently wrestled the playbook away from Fartz...

Yep and I would agree that they are not that good. However, we still scored vs their D which isn't half bad, shut down AP where conceivably he could have done better than Detroit and shut down virtually one of the best pass rushers in the league-which we have major problems with.
It's not a playoff victory but definitely something to build off of and garner momentum if they can keep going like this.

LOL, well they seemed to have that problem solved for the moment anyway. We still don't know what it's gonna be like after the grass stops growing and it gets rain or snow but so far it looks good.

J'Marcus Webb played OK and we got him some help for a change so since we found something that works I'm just hoping Martz keeps it up. You never know with him. Every time he sets up to throw the ball to Kellen Davis ws get a big play but how often does he do that? Just because it works doesn't mean that Martz won't outsmart himself and stop doing it.
The main difference in this game is that we finally came out with an effective game plan and playcalling and executed it beautifully. I love watching Cutler when he's allowed to be Cutler. Hester wasn't even his primary on the TD but when he got the time he went for it and that's what I love about the guy. He knows when to drop the satchel and go for it they just need to give him time to use that option. Did anyone ever see a prettier bomb out of a Bears QB than that one? Hester never had to adjust it just came right down in his hands.
One thing I will say is that the line works much better with Spencer playing OG and Louis at OT than it did with Louis playing OG. Tice was right. He is a good pass blocker but moreso when he's playing OT. When Carimi returns they should keep Spencer at OG and let Louis become the swing tackle and let OMG find out where the Illinois Unemployment Benefits Offices are. Hey that a good question. Can a $3 mil per year football player draw unemployment after he gets cut?
I'll take the win but is did come against one of the bottom 10 teams so unless we string some together I won't believe the changes are permanent. Good to have a big win though and to see the offense move the ball consistently.
