When Ron Rivera became sought after as a HC his role here was dimished and he's was let go. The defense hasn't quite been the same since but Lovies job became more secure. It's another reason why you'll never see him hire a former Bear player from that 85 team.

JA hired Ruskell because he's the perfect subordinate to do the leg work that JA will take credit for only when it's to his advantage to do so and someone he can lay blame of to when it doesn't and he knows Ruskell is in no position to object. JA picked him off the scrap heap after Seattle fired him for his drafting incompetence. The guy owns his job to him

Both Lovie and JA have hidden agenda's which I think are far less hidden than they might suspect.

The front office politics doesn't surprise, but for those even higher up to allow it when it's detrimental to the team and the fans is disgusting. And Ruskell was just happy to find another job he could weasel into. End result is gonna be the same.
