BHS the fact that Riczaj big-upped you says it all (he's one of my "fans")

soulman, I don't know why I think this is happening but I just do: I believe Martz was delivered an ultimatum and not from Lovie, but from on high (Angelo, Phillips maybe Mama McCaskey herself).

That ultimatum was: You will listen to your QB and give him what he wants. Your Greatest Show On Turf days are over.

I believe that if Martz regresses and starts his old nonsense, he will be fired during the season and Tice will take over at OC. Lovie simply can't ignore the results he got when the O-line was in max-protect and Jay dropped back for 3 or 5 steps.

I got big-upped by someone who thinks that a team that has lost 15 of it's last 22 games has a playoff caliber defense ? LOL. Wow. Weeeak.

( don't forget they have the best RB too )
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I'd agree with any and all of this. Since Tice could handle the offense and Shane Day help with calling signals Martz doesn't have much leverage if he doesn't come around and stay that way. He was far more pacifistic during his interview last week about change than he been before. Maybe Jay went over his head to someone else to get him to listen but I'm sure it didn't have to reach Phillips or Ginny.

If they did a comedy film about the Bears this year I'd cast Steven Root (Office Space/as Milton) as Martz running around asking people, "has anyone seen my playbook, my playbook, it was right here, my playbook, where's my playbook". Of course JA gets cast as Lumbergh asking OMG to come in on his day off to watch film of is blocking and Jay Cutler and Jennifer Cavallari get the Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston roles as Peter and Joanna. Guest appearances by Ted Phillips and George McCaskey as "the Bobs".
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I don't see the Bears firing Mike Martz during the middle of the season at all, to be honest with you. They'll make him honor his contract since they would hate it if they paid him to do nothing.

Martz also called for fewer deep drops than in previous games. The Bears used only five seven-step drops. Want to know why? On those plays, the Vikings had their only sack of the night, the Bears had three incompletions and two completions that failed to gain first downs.

    Hmmmm....

I tend to agree with StarkyLuv in that Martz was vociferously instructed to change his style of play calling to better acclimate to the strengths of this team. Cutler was free to move around in the pocket, which he was specifically instructed to NOT do before by The Wonder Boy, and as was stated and as I noticed, Cutler took very few seven step drops.

We seem to have found a decent offensive line unit which posted the line's best performance in probably two years. This makes me excited about the return of Gabe Carimi. I have to wonder what will happen in that scenario...does Lance Louis stay on at RT or does Carimi regain that position? The other case scenario would be that Webb would be removed from the starting line up at LT and thus replaced by Carimi. One can only speculate. It would appear to me to be smarter to give Carimi a shot at LT rather than allow another game go by where J'Marcus Webb fails to block good DE's. We know Carimi can both run block and pass block, so I am eager to see what happens.
