Chris Conte wasnt bad....at least that was noticeable on the broadcast
Granted we don't get the same game tape as coaches, but I thought he played real well for his first start. Regardless that it was against bad ex bears wide receivers and a bad McNabb, he didn't make an glaring mistakes. Thats the biggest thing I took away from it. Interested to see him with a few games under his belt, and against better talent down the road.

He bit a couple of times on run fakes. He took a bad angle on one pass play I saw. Still, not bad.

He's going to make mistakes being a rook so I'm hopeful that they commit to him and let him get the experience he needs w/o killing his confidence. That and I don't want to see 1027 different safety combinations.

yeah i noticed those. wont complain since chris harris takes bad angles every time he gets the chance, and its conte's first start. definately has my attention. on twitter i said "conte needs to make a play" and the next play he tackled AP. glad he follows my twitter.

He tackles well and that's about all that made me sit up and take notice. Niether he or Wright were chanllenged much in the passing game so I can't tell whether that's improved since the NO game or not. All I know is we're taking a huge risk playing two guys with that little experience at pretty important positions in this defense. That's not to say I don't want them to succeed, hell I was one of the few who thought the Conte pick was a good one, but both have a long way to go IMO.

Conte was playing REALLY deep too, it was nice to see some tackling for once. Curious to see in the coming weeks once he gets challenged, but for a first outing, i wont complain

I think he'll become a good player. He seems to have good awareness and he really tackles well which was something his scouting report emphasized. I'd still rather have Harris playing for another year though. He may not have the speed of some guys but he has great instincts and a nose for the ball.

Chris Harris is a clubhouse leader and always a vital member of this defense. He actually messaged me one time to encourage me to continue working hard toward my goals of graduating from college after I told him that I suffer from bipolar disorder. He's a great guy, and I hate like hell that his injuries have slowed him down thus far into the season. That being said, most any safety, including Ed Reed or Troy Polomalu, would have given up that bomb to Calvin Johnson in the Detroit game. Johnson is probably the best wide receiver in the league now, and is thus not easy to contain. Add to that Julius Peppers went to the sideline with a messed up knee, there was no way we could get any pressure on Matthew Stafford. No way whatsoever.
