I think you meant Martz will resign but he doesn't need to. He never agreed to the extension they offered him so his contract is up come January.

I think the hardest part (for me anyways) is the pure OVERTNESS of all this. I think many knew Martz was NOT a fit but the ol' boy network continued anyway.
Many SAW that Omiyale was just putrid out there and you just had a hunch that he's out there b/c of his contract not his play. I can't see how ANY of the coaches would not just yank him unless something else were in play.
Most can see the battering Jay is taking week after week yet there wasn't changes made until recently. Having coaches who take WEEKS to remedy something is not championship football. Nor is it playoff or .500 ball.
Notice how fast the changes are made on D relative to the O. That speaks volumes for me as far as they treat the offensive side of the ball. I am very, very pleased to see Jay say screw this.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

no, I meant it like I said it.
Martz will leave us, Tice will be promoted to become our OC and Cutler will need a new contract after next season. With Tice as OC and hopefully a better OL and 1 good WR Cutler will be happy and resign. I think about longterm here ;)

ooooohh you're saying re-sign as in a new contract. it looks like you're saying resign as in retire or quit hahaha

Yeah, as Nick is saying, that's how I took it as well. To me this is why the English language can be so screwy at times. Similar pronunciations, same spelling but unhyphenated it means to quit and hyphenated it means to not quit.
Sorry I misunderstood you brother.

It clicks pretty well when it's played within the abilties of it's players and that includes Cutler. Since Martz doesn't have to face a pass rush while going through his progressions once a week I'd rather get the weapons Cutler wants and I don't know that they're exactly the same thing as Martz wants.
I may be wrong but I think an offense ought to be built around the QB not the OC. JMO.

Mo does have point. Marts is a good game planner when reigned in. Collnsworth mentioned during the game against Minny that he was a step ahead of the DC. I think it comes down to jay still having respect for him. Telling your boss to go EFF himself doesn't build rapport. If that relationship is beyond repair than he should go, if it was just the heat of battle talking then maybe it can still work. However, Martz isn't gonna get Bruce, Holt & Hakim here. Ever. They caught a bolt of lightning and that doesn't happen twice. He needs to finally come to grips with that, then game plan accordingly....and fire Angelo

Mo does have a good point and Martz is capable of designing good game plans and playcalling but most of his problems here have come from not sticking to what works and always falling back into what doesn't. How many times do you have to "rein him in"? The basic nature of Mike Martz is to do it his way not someone else's. We should have known that when he was hired.
Unless Martz sticks to what he did on Sunday he'll continue to have problems with Jay Cutler. Everybody wanted Jay to step up and become the leader of the offense and he has. I can see it in him. He's ready to take over and he's gonna do it his way and if Mike Martz doesn't like it Jay will let him know.....and I think he just did there for a moment on Sunday, LOL ..................................and Fire Jerry Angelo!
