Tice; "Line Does Well on it's Own?.........
Mike Tice says Bears offensive line did well on it's own.

Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice is pleased with the performance of his unit, but he defended the notion that they get more help than others around the league.
“First of all, every team gives their linemen help,” Tice said. “I thought we had a good game plan. It’s not like, all of a sudden, ‘The Bears’ offensive line is so bad that they need all this help.’ It’s that, we haven’t been giving them help, so now we’re giving them help, it helps settle things down and build their confidence, and gives them a chance to hang in there and not jump the count.” (Oh really Mike? Have you been coaching a different one than the one we've been watching)
The Bears were coming off their most impressive offensive performance of the season, when they scored 39 points, provided a balanced attack and allowed quarterback Jay Cutler to get sacked just once.
And despite the issues of the Minnesota Vikings, Tice was proud that his unit did well against a well-regarded defense.
“They were high in the numbers, defensively,” Tice said. “I think anytime you have some success, to any degree, it’s going to build your confidence and help you improve and move forward.
“This is a long haul. We’re trying to get better every week.”
The Bucs have a talented young defensive line but they’ve had some injuries. On Wednesday, defensive end Michael Bennett (groin) groin didn’t practice, and Gerald McCoy (ankle) was limited.
“They bring it,” Tice said.

Of course they need help Mike and if you idiots go back to empty backfields with 5 blockers and 7 step drops somebody should drop kick your ass back up to Minnesota, and you can take Martz with you. Christian Ponder needs a mentor.

Oh boy, does the line now have bruised ego's from having to get help to not get posterized? Is that why Tice is saying this. Look Mike here's a question "when is the last damn time you've ever seen a FULLBACK in the Martz system?"
....no further questions your honor.

I think someone did one and called it "The Sack Attack" and they got upset because it's what they usually call a DEFENSIVE line. If they keep improving it'll have to be ripped up of course but OMG can have his own and call him self "Sack Meister OMG". Maybe then he'll take up a career as a rapper because he sure as hell can't pass block.

I don't think he's a bad coach but as you've pointed out JA hasn't exactly given him much to work with either. Webb is improving but still inconsistent as hell and not too bright. How in the hell do you get 3 false start penalties in a single game? The one guy who he's been high on who actually does seem to fit his description of a good pass blocker is Louis. He seems to be more comfortable playing oustside then inside which I suppose opens up the possibility of moving Carimi to LT at some point in time.
His conversion of CWill from LT to LG seems to be bearing some fruit too. He's no All-Pro but he's not the waste many thought either. He's not the greatest pass blocker around but as a pulling Guard he's excellent. I have a far better feeling about his coaching skills than I ever did his predecessor. If we spend some higher picks on lineman for a change I think he can put a very good line togther once he has better talent.

It's odd that Tice didn't know that Louis seems better at T than G. I could buy Carimi at LT and Louis RT and if we draft O linemen in the first few (not last) rounds of the draft the future will look brighter than average imo.
