I think it's because Martz is so used to scoring from 40 yards out that he has no idea what to do inside the 10. There are no downfield pass plays when there's no downfield. He's an idiot throwing on first down and then running on second. The way we were run blocking at least the first two plays should have been runs. I hope Lovie has another sit down with the jackass this week. We're at the same spot we were last year when things turned around for good. Time for another come top Jesus meeting with Martz.

Martz is too arrogant for his own good. He reminds me of Steve Spurrier, quite frankly. When he coached at Florida, Spurrier would throw the ball all game long just to run the score up. That is not how the game is played in the NFL. In the NFL, you build a lead initially and then sustain it by clock-draining drives in the second half. I had no problem with Cutler throwing the ball in the first half, but he couldn't connect on passes because of our jokes of wide receivers. In the second half, though, we needed to continue running the ball down the Bucs' throats and maybe get another score or two to put the game away. Martz nearly cost the Bears the game today, and to me, that is unforgivable.
