Fire Jerry Angelo and let Lovie stay on to see if he can do better with more talent. Somebody needs to take over that personnel spot. Ruskell is in charge of pro personnel now but his track record is not better than Angelo's. When we start talking about new blood it should start in the front office first. I don't think there's as much harmony between Lovie and Angelo as they let on.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Gould's first kick off went out of bounds. This team is doomed!

How much harmony could there be when you consistently aren't given enough tools to build the foundation of your team? I have never seen a coach that has been given less to do more with than Lovie Smith. Say what you will about his game management skills, but the man knows how to motivate a team to play its hardest every game. I am surprised he wasn't fired by Angelo at the end of 2009 since that was the first year of the Jay Cutler era in Chicago and we finished the season 7-9. It seems as if Lovie only got his contract extension by dent of the fact that he won the division and got the team to the NFC Championship Game last year.
The sad thing about all this is that the more success this team has, the less likely that anything will be done to Jerry Angelo. He will come out of all of this smelling like a rose rather than the turd that he is.

Bump for 3 nag waiting for him to give props after a solid performance... Of course if we would have lost he would be a major thread starter today

No kidding. The other major pessimist is 4th, but he's at least more realistic with his assessments. He couldn't be more right about Jerry Angelo than if Hitler killed the Jews.

The problem with the Bears management is that they are too mecurial. They bounce between making some GENIUS moves (getting Cutler and Peppers in FA, drafting Hester, Briggs, Forte, etc), and making boneheaded IDIOTIC moves (Getting Pace, Omiyale in FA, drafting too many DL and not enough OL, etc). Bouncing between looking phenomenal (early 06, some of '10), to looking downright mediocre (2007-2009). They just cant make up their mind what kind of team they are.
Look at this year...who are the Bears? Mediocre .500 team? Playoff team? I cant tell yet, neither can anyone else. Which is sad since we already are looking at 2 very possible playoff teams, WITHIN OUR OWN DIVISION.

I applaud the aspect about you, 4th. You really are one of the most brutally honest people on this forum in that you are not afraid to tell the world how it is from your perspective. You really are one of my favorite people on this message board for that reason and because you always manage to give me a good laugh. I appreciated the time that you took the time out of your hectic schedule to talk about life and this site in the chat room. You don't know me from a piss ant, yet you were willing to do that. I have to say that your opinions are valuable and they come usually after much thought and careful consideration.
