I would have loved to see the Bears in the playoffs, competing for a SB. A couple wins (very winnable) with Hanie and we would have a chance. It is this waste of an opportunity that kills me. The official line from Halas is and has been the whole "we gotta find a way to win" blah blah. They didn't/couldn't. So give us someone who can!! Max protect can only mask the crap o-line so long. I understand injuries happen, but injuries happen to every team.

Just lost a fully typed out response, but the gist of it is that any team that loses starters is going to struggle in a tough division. The texans had a cake walk of a schedule, and lost their last three, including to the colts and Carolina.

I'm sorry did we lose those 5 games to the Lions, GB, NE, SF, and NO, no it was KC, Den, Oak, Sea and GB, Even w/a backup qb we still should beat 4 of those teams and be in the playoffs.
Again this is an issue w/Depth.
Houston, w/Yates beat Alt(playoff team) and Cincy(playoff team) They actually lost a few that should have been wins, but b/c of quality depth they showed they could beat playoff level teams.

Two of those would have been wins if it had not been for a dumbass of an OC and a stupid mistake by the backup rb. Which would have put us with the same record and a playoff birth as the texans.... Who were only able to make the playoffs thansks to an extremely easy schedule... The entire year.... Not just their last 5 games.

It did stop KC, but then again their coach was also fired so it appears that losing the starting qb and starting rb wasn't an excuse for them either.
The problem is the bulk of this thread started and occurred back in late October and November...This thread was about enjoying the success we were having at the time and those who apparently wouldn't or couldn't...those who would rather be proven "right" then have the Bears win games and make the playoffs...
I don't recall anyone during that winning streak predicting we still wouldn't be making the playoffs...to say it now, like you were saying it THEN is bullshit...

if's and but's candy and nuts and so forth. I'm sure I could say the same thing for some of the losses for Houston. Fact is, w/a 3rd string rookie qb, they have won. They were able to prepare not just the backup but the 3rd stringer when their qb went down; and he's hardly a slouch.

The problem was a douche bag of a poster started a douche bag of a thread. A DB of a poster that consistantly knocked the intellegence of the posters on this site yet consistantly made some of the most incompetent posts here.
This thread should have never been started. Actually at the time of this thread very few people were being negative about the team, but were being critical(no pass rush, wr's were still not reliable, OL was still shakey); and somehow b/c not everyone was signing the high praises of the great and mighty Bears(the most complete team in the league) he started a BS crapfest of a thread.

" Most Complete Team " Dose that include backup players or no? Just wondering. LOL " " Most Complete Team" " in need of management overhaul" sounds better .

God damn it, I wish one of the administrators would just kill this thread. This thing has gone on long enough. It has no constructive value whatsoever.

Hey now, I was on the side against StarkyLuv at the time. Now that the Bears are out of the Playoffs, there is no really good reason to keep this thread alive. Even Starky came out and started a whole brand new thread complaining about the front office and the coaching staff.
