Here's the thing about this season though, and some of us predicted this after our first loss:
We were tested early.
Atlanta...we passed, things looked pretty good.
NO...failed
GB...failed miserably
So right off the bat, we get destroyed by 2 Playoff teams (probably Division winners)
Beat Carolina as expected, but loss to a better-then-expected Detroit team, and now we are on the outside looking in.
Although...now we start the part of the season where we have some cake opponents:
Philly (yeah, who wouldve thought theyd be pushovers this year)
A Stafford-less Lions team, at Soldier Field
An iffy San Diego team (could go either way really, they are as sporadic as us)
Then Oakland, KC, Denver and Seattle.
So yeah, Bears might actually finish with a decent record. And if the Lions lost Stafford for any long stretch of time, we may yet over take them in the Division. And yes, i know you can only play the teams on the schedule, but as i said: we were tested early. Lets say we DO make the playoffs (not an impossibility), guarantee we are going to face either NO, GB or both. And can any of you sit there and say in all serious that we will have any chance of beating them come January?

Yeah, and It only took to the NFC Championship game to ultimately prove our friend Nag’s and others “smarter” then everyone else...to quote and quote, finally have a “valid point” regarding how terrible our 2010 Bears were...
Hey, I have no problem with people having opinions and constructive criticisms regarding our team; I certainly have my fair share myself...I just get sick of people actually believing they are smarter than everyone else....including JA, Lovie and Martz....
First, you’re not a football genius because you constantly point out the same glaring issues everyone else sees with this team over and over and over again...could one of you “smarter” fans please tell me, for the umpteenth time, that OL sucks or that our WR are average at best or that Martz is pass happy son of a bitch...I just can’t get enough of it...feel so honored and enlightened every time one of you geniuses cast your pearls vast football knowledge before us know nothing and Kool-Aid drinking swine...
Second, having/making dozen, if not hundreds, of (mostly) negative opinions and predictions regarding this team only to have a handful ultimately appear to stick doesn’t make you a football genius...it just makes you annoyingly pessimistic...nobody remembers when they’re wrong; but Christ, some of you geniuses never let us forget when you’re "right"...even if it takes to Superbowl or NFC Championship to do it...
Every year 31 teams will ultimately fail...for the “smarter” fan, the odds being proven “smarter” are greatly in their favor...
I know this will be very unpopular around here, and I can’t believe I am actually saying it, but the simple fact is those two especially (Lovie and Martz) have forgotten more about football then ANY of the posters around here will ever know...regardless of how dumb you may think they are; they are still smarter then you will ever be when it comes to the game of football...there isn’t a single soul around here qualified be a HC or OC in the NFL...even though, to hear some of you talk, I am question whether some have deluded themselves otherwise...
You all should remember that when you’re self-congregating your blind self at finding a nut or loudly pointing out the obvious for the millionth time....
Damn, I am all ranty and shit today...

If we play them in January, we have a chance to beat them in January; anything can happen between then and now...but right now, I am not worried about January, I am worried about October...
To turn the table, how can you sit there in October and say we have no chance of winning come January...if we are playing in January?

Bears are better then crappy teams. Struggle against good teams.
So...its easy to say Bears will continue to be victorious against lesser teams. Unfortunately that doesnt make our team any better, since when we get to the playoffs, we will be facing good teams again, such as....the Saints and Packers. Who beat us. So, either they will have to get worse, or the Bears will have to get better for us to beat them next time, and i highly doubt either of those scenarios are very likely.

I think we could agree that Forte is pretty much the entire offense. How long will he last, and, how long before teams make us beat them with Roy Williams and Devin Hester...???

I don’t think it is easy to say the Bears will continue to be victorious regardless of who they play...
On the other hand, I think is very easy to say the Bears will completely fail at some point this season, whether it’s failing to making the playoffs altogether or failing once they get in...it’s very doubtful we are looking at a Superbowl winning season in the making...
However, at this point, making any negative predication regarding us playing/beating the Saints or GB in January as more to do with playing the percentages then anything else...

I know I played off some of the things you wrote, but I wasn't necessarily directing my rant at you specifically...sorry about that...I know you are very opinionated about this team, and we have butted heads over a few things, but have always felt a level of mutual respect....my rant wasn't directed at you...
Funny thing is I am probably going end up arguing with you and Jimmors over this, while the guys I actually have a beef with run off and hide until the next Bears loss...
