That's what the 'negativity' is all about.
For some, when it comes to facing the truth .......... their idea of being a good fan, is to stick their fingers in their ears and hum.

But some of us are 'bad fans' because someone says so. Nah... we're the ones, who don't stick our fingers in our ears and hum.

1 SB appearance since 85 . Ronald Reagan was president then. Nuff said.

That sounded just like every CT nutjob. We can handle the truth, but thread after thread of everything negative gets very old, has pushed away many posters, and potentially has kept away many new posters.

If a little TRUTH ( aka ' negativity' ) is too much for some to handle on a FOOTBALL board ... well there's always the tennis sites.
Get in the real world. All sports sites are like this ( and if it ain't then it's run by Stuart Smalley ) .... because he's good enough, he's smart enough, and dog-gone-it people like him.

Haha, way to get all personally butthurt. Yes, I have examples. Grizz has left for that very reason. Tommy rarely posts due to the incessant bitching. Dags left for a few years because of the bickering. I've invited friends to post here that won't, and commented on how its nothing but idiots bitching about anything and everything. You make about as much sense as some loud mouthed broad saying "it takes a real man to handle this!" When you and nag disconnect from your hawt sweaty, passionate, "truthfilled" lovemaking, get back with me...

Maybe you didn't read my original post in this thread that there was no need in trying to defend/ justify the negativity, because most of it is legit. Its the fact that even after a win there isn't anything but bitching and whining. There is a tolerable limit, and this board exceeds it on a regular basis.

I agree. Only thing I had a slight problem with was someone deciding that they had a right to try and define someones fan worthiness. If people DIDN'T care, they wouldn't bitch. How do some miss that point ?
I honestly don't think most who come here are trying to shove their opinion's down anyone's throat ( notice I said most ).
I think most can agree to disagree when they feel it's warranted, but cripes leave it at that. Take an extreme stance ur gonna get extreme responses ( mostly because people are fighting fire with fire ).
But no one has the right to say " ur a bad fan". That was just frickin retarded.

I disgaree w/the negativity after wins is overwhelming. There are positives in threads after the win, but it's also mixed w/negatives b/c many of the wins have had glaring blotches in them. Get a complete win against a good opponent and those negatives diminish even more.

This team has built a poor reputation w/many fans over the past several years...decades....and it's not going to be a win or a playoff birth and all is forgiven. Get a quality product out there on a consistant basis and people would drop the negativism.

In other words, it’s a Super Bowl win or nothing...the last few years we’ve seen 4 division championships, a trip to the Super bowl, plus another NFC championship game...I am sure there are plenty of other teams/fans who'd give their left nut to have such inconsistency and poor reputation...I am not saying we haven’t had our frustrations as well during these last 10 years, but they were sure a shit lot better than the 10 prior to them...could things be a little better...a little more consistent? Of course they could....however, you can bet your sweet ass they could be a whole hell of a lot worse...they say you never appreciate what you have until its gone...

lets skip the 90's and most of the 80's and 70's(i'll stop there b/c that's goes before I was born, but you get the point). 1 sb win for this team, a flagship of the NFL, isn't good enough wolf sorry. I don't give 2 shakes about how the consistant losing teams fans feel or would be appreciate; I don't hold the Bears to their standards. I was brought up on the "legacy of the Bears" all the wins all the championships; that's what I want...in my lifetime, not my dads or his dads.
I hold this team, fairly or not, to the standards of Pitt, and GB. They always find a way to have more up years then down years.....50% isn't good enough; if they have a down decade or 2 they make it up to their fanbases in a hurry; neither did much in the 80's, gb not much in the 70's, pitt, not much in the 90's, but mid 90's through last year GB 3 sb appearnaces and 2 titles; Pitt 4 appearances 2 titles, go back to the 60's and 70's GB 2 more titles, Pitt 4 titles. Bears 60's-70's bad, 1 sb title in the 80's, 90's- early 00's bad, 1 sb appearance.

Sorry I don't get to hold onto the good memory's that those teams have of the titles between the droughts. I'm not old enough for all but 1 of them; and I'm getty tired of wearing that 1 out. The Saints and the Bucs and Rams have as many SB's as the Bears; sorry that's not good enough, those aren't the teams that associate the Bears with; it's not what this team sold me, or that was ingrained into me. No it's not A SB; it's multiple. This team sells itself on it's tradition, and it's sold it's current fanbase a bill of goods over the last 50 years; 60's and 70's, fine every team, even the really good ones have down periods. But 1 sb/apearance doesn't make up for 20 previous years of irrelevance. Nor does the next 20 get wiped away b/c of 1 appearance and one almost.
I sufferred through the falling apart of the 80's and the laughable 90's, and I have appreciated that the 2000's have been better; but it's not satisfying. It's like having a drink of water and a piece of toast after fasting for a week. This team owes it's fanbase more then a decade of cielings and basements.
