I'm starting to despise Bears "fans".

I know it's because the very nature of internet forum boards welcomes the irresistible urge to bitch about any and everything. Anonymity + unlimited number of people possibly reading + the desire to appear "knowledgable" leads to any forum board on any topic basically being a place to gripe about everything.

But I swear, Bears fans may be the only sports fans where a win isn't "good enough". Any other fan would be HAPPY that their team won a football game. But not Bears fans (and the absolutely pathetic Chicago media). No, the Bears must satisfy with a certain number of style points. The margin of victory must reach some imaginary number that's big enough. Overcoming the many team flaws to win a game against a quality team overseas is ignored for the "analysis" of things the Bears did wrong.....in a victory.

The now requisite "that may have worked against that team but it won't work against Team X" pops up all over the 'net. What this mystical, all-powerful, unbeatable Team X team is, I do not know. Not being happy or relieved by your team winning is a sure sign that one is either A) stupid B) has a deluded sense of entitlement or C) not really grasping how difficult it is to win a game in the NFL.

Any win is important. You can look at a win and acknowledge that a team didn't play their best football. But any other team that wins a game without playing their best football is celebrated (I bet Packer fans aren't ripping their team by almost letting the Vikings come back on them). But Bears fans seem to ENJOY bitching about their team. It's never, EVER good enough. I'm sure a lot of them would be bitching after a Super Bowl victory if we settled for a FG when up 16 points....

Guess you're in the wrong place then Starky. This place is filthy with 'em. Try Packers.com I'll bet there are fewer there.

starky's #1 chant, how shitty the fans are, no one is as true a fan as he...he is the ultimate fan and we should all strive to be as fan as he. Not sure why you grace us w/your presence each week o glorious one.
Who is really complaining? Everyone is happy w/the win from what I can tell; people were pretty happy in the chat room while I was in there. But there were serious flaws in todays game, it was poorly coached, and our qb was bad, and the D stopped playing in the 4th.
That being said, WR's played over there heads today and actualy made Cutler look better then he was; and our RB's were absolutely monsters. We played great considering it was against a team that just came off beating New Orleans; who stomped us. They were beaten down and battered, but still are a good team.

It's a good win. But it's not worth jumping up and down over either. We win a game against a team that will make a deep run in the playoffs, and I'll be ready to jump up and down. to this point, we haven't. Those teams have beat us down instead.I'll be happy over teams w/wining records each and every week no matter how sloppy they are. But that doesn't mean I won't acknowledge issues.

I hope the Packer fans aren't ripping their team; they have come off a sb victory, and are undefeated looking like they will make a run for a 2nd title. What's to complain about that? If the Bears were SB champs and undefeated, even w/problems at WR and OL no one would care.

Oner more thing to add Starky. As I've said to every other similar complaint for over 7 years now, "of course we complain, that's what Bears fans do". In our lifetimes no team will ever be as good or as dominant as the 85 Bears. Better get used to it.

BEARS WIn ... but we could have done better ...

yet another less then 500 yds. passing from Cutler. Blame that on Martz's game plan.

Forte ? When do we cut him with less then 200 yards rushing ... AGAIN?

This team wont even bring on Gould for an 80 yarder. Has he lost somthing?

Defense continue to spiral downward with only 4 INTS. Time to cut Peanut and the rest of the deadbeats.

Defense gives up 18 points in an EMBARASSING win. Lovie calls this a win?

This is humiliation. If these kinds of wins keep coming ... we will NEVER make the playoffs.

Can you even imagine 9 more wins ... LIKE THIS ????

    We are doomed.

You wanna know WHY people arent happy with just a "win?" Because on the other side of the coin, you have people that think "Hey, Bears are 4-3 and won 2 in a row, they just might be able to make the playoffs after all!!" Nevermind the fact that we got destroyed by 3 possible Playoff teams, nevermind the fact that our wins have come against pretty crappy teams, and even then we still could have lost those games.

So yeah, im happy the Bears win, im glad our UK brethren got to witness a Bears win in person. But im not fooled into believing this team will do anything except flame out at the end of the year. And not because our team "sucks," they dont. We have some pretty damn good players (and some pretty lousy ones as well). No, the Bears problems are in the leadership department, and you cant become a better coach or GM by simply hoping and praying. So long as we still have JA and Lovie in charge, the Bears will continue to do exactly what they have been doing since Lovie became HC: show flashes of greatness in between long stretches of mediocrity and ineptitude.

Gee, Starky... may I suggest you familiarize your enormous brain pan with the term Second City Syndrome. A simple Google search will provide immediate clues as soon as the search page loads, let alone all the links that will be available.

It's like pizza; we know the best pizza on the planet is available only in Chicago, but you never hear that anywhere outside the city.

Anyway, just a suggestion to gain insight into the Chicagoan mentality. And our refusal to accept a mere win.

Like the ole saying goes. You learn more from losses than wins. Why? Because after a win no matter how ugly, people's heads are filled with pride of the win and glaze over the mistakes made on their way to a win. Bears fans see the same mistakes year in and year out and are tired of a front office that will not fix these mistakes. Sure the Bears almost made the SB last year, but if they would have addressed the line issue after the 06 season the Bears would have made the SB and Cutler would not have been sacked 50+ times (leading the NFL). So we are glad we won, but we don't let the win fog over what has been lacking for years. This team has the ability to be in the playoffs, if the front office would get their heads out of their wallets.

Do I think we should have won by more? Absolutely. We were playing a bad defense. Should there have been a bigger margin of victory? Absolutely. Our defense let them back in.

Does that matter in the long run? No, because we won.

However, there is always something to improve. As I stated in my thread yesterday, our goal line offense is pathetic. And if you do not care that our goal line offense is pathetic, then talk to me next time we lose because we can not score on one of those plays. We will see if you still care about that complaint of mine.

Whereas I agree any debate regarding whom are and aren't “real fans” is pointless and retarded...I’ll say this, WIN or lose, this forum pretty much sucks anymore...if Disney is the happiest place on earth; DaBears Forum must be one of the unhappiest....Like a Martz offence, this forum has become very unbalanced...it seems all negative, all the time...
