Tyler Clutts: I think this guy is a major reason the running game has resurfaced. If you would have told me at the start of the season Martz is going to use a FB I would have never bought it. Some very nice crushing blocks from him at times. (This guy is a huge additon both as a blocking FB and on ST. That last block he laid on the Bucs safety was the clincher as far as the TD was concerned. The guy had the angle of Forte and Clutts just leveled him. We know he can catch but I'd like to see what he can do carrying the ball too ala the Packer John Kuhn. Maybe another good short yardage and/or goaline option to use when the defense is keying on the RB)
Dane Sanzenbacher: He not only catches but he can block. A go-to guy in absence of Olsen will only get better with time and might even see the field alongside Bennett returning. (Sanz is the perfect example of a guy who doesn't meet NFL standards for size and speed but he knows how to play the game. This is the kind of guy all of our core players should be. Plain and simple the guy is a good football player)
Lance Louis/Chris Spencer: these guys are holding their own. Spencer plays hurt and gives hope for a future center. Louis seems better at RT than LG. Will be interesting when Carimi returns. (Since the season began these two have shown the biggest inprovement of any of the lineman and you're right, Louis does look better outside than he did inside. When Carimi returns we'll finally have enough depth to assure that OMG never sees the field again)
Adam Podlesh: Didn't have a super game vs. Bucs but gives flashes of why they moved on from Maynard. Has both leg and touch. (He's good. Maybe not $3 mil per year good but good. Relatively speaking how do you justify paying a punter $3 mil per year yet offer your star RB only $6 mil?)
Stephen Paea: I don't care what they say about his "pad level" (you could say that about the whole d-line) this guy is strong, quick, and instinctive. You certainly can see more energy on the line when he's in there. (I've liked him ever since I saw his interview after he set that lift record at the combine. He's another guy who defies the measurables somewhat buty he's quick, he's strong and he plays with some fire in his belly. Right now he and Okoye are our best inside rushers and he should be playing ahead of Melton)
Roy Williams: There I said it. Caught a TD, caught more than I thought he would, got the penalty on that Bucs player. He's big and if Jay can get used to him he can contribute more than a few other of the wideouts. (He'll have to do more than catch one TD pass to get off my shit list. He needs to start making the tough over the middle catches that he was brought in to do and leave those legendary alligator arms of his on the bench)
