The Post Bye Week OL
We actually appear to have a good problem on the OL moving into the bye week as Gabe Carimi is expected to come back from his knee injury.
The Bears have the problem because Chris Spencer has played so well at RG and Louis has played well at RT.
Coming out of the bye week I expect the OL to look like this,
LT: Webb
LG: Williams
C: Garza
RG: Louis
RT: Carimi
I do not want to move Garza as I feel that Cutler and him are on the same page and Cutler is comfortable.
What do we think of opening up competition between Spencer and Chris Williams at LG?
Williams has been solid, but perhaps Spencer is an upgrade over the very average Williams.

Do we know for sure he is coming back?

Why replace CWill he's playing at least as good as Spencer? Just shift Louis back to RG and if he struggles like he did earlier just replace him with Spencer.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

This is something I've been thinking about too. When Carimi comes back what will it look like. I hate moving spencer or louis out of the lineup. I think Carimi simply replaces Louis at RT myself. What I'd like to see tried out would be to have Carimi replace Webb, so it would be Carimi, Williams, Garza, Spencer Louis. Its an interesting situation, that's for sure.

If Spencer can help Webb like Williams is supposedly doing why not try him at LG. If Louis wasn't doing decent at RT I'd say move Webb back there. Would Webb be adequate at RG? That might be an interesting pre-season experiment next season.
Seriously though they better draft some linemen in the first few rounds come next year.

I'm going on record as saying I don't want to start Carimi unless the o-line takes a shit turn at any one position.

I am guessing Carimi will be back at RT regardless. The battle will be at the RG spot between Spencer and Louis.
Gut feeling is that Louis will be the starter at RG and Spencer will be very good backup option at LG, C, RG. This would lead to the least turnover if one of our interior players go down.

Does Carimi step back in at right tackle where he started the season? Does Lance Louis move back to right guard? Isn't Chris Spencer playing well enough at right guard to keep his spot, maybe even move to left guard in place of Williams?

My choice would be
Carimi Williams garza spencer Louis
There is a chance carimi just sees bench like burris wants
What's more likely Webb williams garza Louis carimi
Another interesting look of spencer hand ok is Webb Williams spencer Louis carimi but I doubt they bench garza

Hell, I say we line Carimi up as a TE, and block on either side. May be a stupid idea, but I can't see it being worse than an end around on 3rd and 3 to Bennett..
