The Chicago Bears filled the roster spot created by the release of safety Chris Harris on Thursday by signing linebacker Jabara Williams off waivers.
Williams (6-foot-2, 228 pounds) was a seventh-round draft selection (No. 228) by the St. Louis Rams out of Stephen F. Austin last April.
More details to come.

Well, they do have only 5 LBs active on the roster and 5 safeties, even without Harris. So it makes sense.

I think the fact that they did not sign Nelson or McBath is a sign that Chris Conte is looking good on film and is improving week to week. And the Bears will live with Wright/Merriweather opposite of him.
Williams is interesting and from what I read from the St Louis media tore it up in Rams camp and they were hoping to keep him on the PR.

Never heard about Pisa-did he flunk the physical?

Nothing was ever said shorty but since they appeared to holding a spot for him and played half the season with only 5 guys on the roster my guess is that he did. I don't think they'd have added this guy if Pisa was coming back. I wish him the best. He was a good player for us when healthy.

We can never have too many LB's or Safeties and the same goes for DT's and OT's.........oops, no not that.
The don't play defense do they.
