There has to be a hidden reason that the Patriots opted to cut Bodden. They always manage to turn shit into gold, and the outcasts usually have disciplinary issues or something of that nature. That's what we're finding out with Brandon Meriweather right now. He's shit from a disciplinary perspective.

If Hoke could have developed Merriweather (or if he still can) they could take a close look at this guy. We need some corner help at least for depth but castoffs and projects aren't exactly our strong suit.

Last I knew Lovie was helping to coach the NB position not CB. Since when is Tillman the enforcer and if he is why can he only discipline the CB's only as he's a leader of the secondary

I wouldn't be adverse to taking a look at the guy but I doubt if JA will pop on another NE product.

Hell yeah. I've always wanted to see him in a Bears uniform. Now, sign him! He can't be worse than what we have at CB right now, can he?

Read the entire article guys. He may have a role but he's not as big a part of their defense as this indicates.

Patriots Part Ways With Bodden 28th October, 2011 - 4:37 pm NFL.com - The Patriots have decided to part ways with cornerback Leigh Bodden.

Bodden had played a large role on New England's defense this season as their nickel cornerback. He played in five games this season, starting one. He recorded 17 tackles and four passes defensed.

He was in the third year of a four-year, $22 million deal.

The guy is a Nickel Back making $3.9 mil this year. He's defensed all of 4 passes so far and has zero picks. Lack of production (just like Chris Harris) is more than likely the reason he was waived. He wasn't starting and the article goes on to say that his departure was mutually agreed upon.

We should have learned our lesson by now with Meriweather. The Pats don't cut productive players. If the guy no longer has the tools to play at the #1 or #2 CB spot which he did before missing 2010 with an injury then we don't need him. We already have one of the better and certainly more opportunistic NB's in the league in DJ Moore. Pass.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
