Bennett's back. Who should lose playing time? IMHO: Knox

Williams is improving (cut the bobbles, bub). Sazenbacher has been the most consistent and has the most TDs. Hester is the biggest offensive weapon outside of Forte (he's deadly with runs after the catch and is the best deep threat). That leaves the "feast or famine" Knox. Lord knows I'm no big fan of his "never fight for the ball" antics and he's just not a dependable guy. Bennett is our best receiver but won't quite be ready to start.

Our ideal starters would be Williams (sans bobbles) and Bennett. With Hester in for a deep threat and Sanzenbacher for slot stuff. That leaves the flaky Knox out in the cold with Hurd (who plays great special teams).

What do you guys think? Who's playing time would you reduce with Bennett's return?

Because of his inconsistent play K. Davis should get less reps. Johnny Knox could take a ding too.

What about a rotation of receivers?

Roy and Sanz are the guys who will get their playing time cut. Hester and Knox, whether it's deserved or not are the two deep threat guys on this team and Bennett doesn't serve that role; the other 3 all posession guys and all will cherry pick from eachother.

They've already been doing that with RWill and Knox at Split End so if you reduce Knox snaps you increase RWill's and I'm not sure that's the direction to go in. Bennett typically plays in the slot which is where Sanz has been outstanding for a rookie so if Bennett comes back as the Slot Receiver it's Sanz who loses snaps.

The idea that I favor is to rotate Bennett with Hester at Flanker on key 3rd down or occasionally 2nd an long passing downs. We don't lose Hesters big play capabilities completely and we get a much better clutch receiver on the field when it's needed. Bennett was never an every down player before and we also get the benefit of better blocking with Bennett. In the past Hester's return game improved when he wasn't an every down player anyway so I'm thinking that overall we don't miss much this way and Bennett can still alternate some downs with Sanz.

Sam Hurd is just spare change at WR. He can play any of the positions so he becomes a utility backup or an injury replacement if someone goes down. It's nice to have a guy as good as he is on ST that can also step in at any WR spot.

I think we will just see a rotation depending on the flow of the game. The more we run the more RW will be out there. I think Knox will be a third down wr and Davis will grab bench in those situations while obvious running downs we will be using TEs,RW, AND Bennet

someone between Hurd and Sans will be inactive though
