    This page is dedicated to the memory of Walter. On this page you will find a tribute video, highlights, photo gallery, and a look at Walter Payton's lasting legacy with the Chicago Bears.
    In 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, Payton literally rewrote the NFL record book with his ball-carrying feats. He rushed 3,838 times for 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns-all records. He also caught 492 passes for 4,538 yards and 15 more touchdowns. Altogether, he scored 125 touchdowns, second most ever, and he accounted for a record 21,803 combined net yards.

    RIP Walter. I can only say that I'm so very glad I got the chance to see you play. Few make it to the very top in the world of pro football and NOBODY did it as well as you. Ginny McCaskey is right. You were a treasure and now you're gone but we still have the treasure of all those memories of you showing us every week how to "Never Die Easy" Thank you.
