How Does Matt Forte Compare to LeSean McCoy and Other Observations.......
Tale of the tape: Matt Forte vs. LeSean McCoy

Bears running back Matt Forte is fifth in the NFL in rushing yards per game (96.0, 672 total) and first among running backs in yards from scrimmage (1,091). He’s on a pace for 1,536 rushing yards — which would be the most by a Bear since Walter Payton in 1985 (1,551) — and a franchise-record 2,494 yards from scrimmage.
He’s been called the MVP of the team, the best running back in the NFL, even the best player in the NFL, by teammate Brian Urlacher after the victory over the Buccaneers in London. But Forte might not be the best running back on the field Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Or the most underrated or underpaid running back, either.
The Eagles’ LeSean McCoy has some pretty fair credentials of his own. He leads the NFL with 107.7 rushing yards per game, 5.6 yards per carry and eight rushing touchdowns. He’s coming off a career-best performance against the Cowboys on Sunday. Facing the No. 1-ranked rushing defense in the league (69.7 yards per game), McCoy had 30 carries for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 34-7 rout. He added 15 yards on two receptions for an even 200 yards from scrimmage. He gained 76 yards on his first six carries in the first quarter — that’s more than the Cowboys allowed, on average, in an entire game.
Forte has faced three teams currently in the top 10 in rushing defense in the NFL this season — the Vikings (No. 5), Falcons (No. 7) and Packers (No. 10). McCoy has faced three of the top seven — the 49ers (No. 1), Cowboys (No. 4) and Falcons (No. 7).
So it’ll be an interesting matchup Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field — Forte vs. an Eagles defense ranked 29th in the NFL in rush yards per carry (5.0); McCoy vs. a Bears defense that ranks 28th (5.2).
EX-BEAR OF THE WEEK: Brandon Lloyd
Three months since the start of training camp, Jay Cutler is just now getting a feel for Roy Williams. But Brandon Lloyd already seems to have a connection with A.J. Feeley less than two weeks after joining the St. Louis Rams — and Feeley isn’t even the Rams’ regular starting quarterback.
Lloyd, acquired from the Denver Broncos on Oct. 17 for a conditional sixth-round pick, caught six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ 31-21 upset of the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in St. Louis. His eight-yard touchdown catch with 17 seconds left in the first half gave the Rams a 17-0 lead. His diving catch for a 16-yard gain on third-and-five with 4:10 to play helped clinch the victory.
Lloyd, who played for the Bears in 2008, had six receptions for 74 yards against the Cowboys last week. In two games with the Rams, he has 12 receptions for 127 yards — one catch less than Williams (13-190, 1 TD) has in six games with the Bears.
SECOND-HALF STAT TO WATCH: Forced fumbles
Forced fumbles are an unofficial measurement of how hard the Bears’ defense is playing. The Bears usually get most of their fumbles when they’re swarming to the ball and gang-tackling. That’s been a hallmark of their defense under Lovie Smith. The Bears have been in the top five in the NFL in fumble recoveries in four of the previous five seasons — No. 1 in 2009 (15) and 2006 (20).
But that’s been a missing element for the most part this season. The Bears, who forced 37 fumbles last season (second-most in the NFL behind the Giants’ 42) and recovered 15 (fifth-most in the NFL), have forced just eight fumbles in the first seven games and recovered four — none in the past four games. Even cornerback Charles Tillman, who has 27 career forced fumbles, hasn’t had one in the past five games after getting one each against the Falcons and Saints.
In fact, since Week 4 of last season, the Bears have recovered just 11 fumbles in their last 21 games. They had recovered 74 in the previous 70 games from 2006-10.

The Bears defense is gonna have their hands full on Monday night. Philly has their own stud horse in the backfield in if he gored one of the top run defenses for 185 yards the front 7 better control their gaps better than they've been doing or we won't need to worry about Vick. McCoy will tear us up.
It should be an interesing game when two of the top RB's in the league square off against porous run defenses. It looks like for us the name of the game is for us to take McCoy out of it and force Vick to beat us through the air. It looks like Philly will be on a similar mission.
I really don't care that we weren't interested in Lloyd. Maybe if he has been a FA this summer but spending even a 6th round pick on him would have been useless at this point in time. He wouldn't be having that kind of success in St Louis if Martz was still running that offense.
The last part of this article is revealing something huge. Only 11 fumble recoveries in our last 21 games vs what we were able to accomplish in the four prior years????? No wonder the defense is slipping. How many drives did those fumble recoveries end or help to keep points of the board? It also means far less short field drives for the offense these past two years.
Those take aways are the benchmarks in this defense. You couple that with our lack of a pass rush and the fact that we've been really poor an run defense this year and you can see why our overall play is slipping. Is age finally beginning to creep in or is it just that other teams are doing a better job of covering up when they play us?

Dallas had a bad game. Any running back is capable of going off his rocker and running hog wild at any given time. That's just the nature of the NFL. It's almost like people on this site have made it a forgone conclusion that we not only will lose, but that we have no chance of winning, nor will the score be very close. The Bears' rush defense, might I remind you, has been very good in recent weeks, stopping Adrian Peterson for his lowest yard total of the season thus far as far as I know.
Do I think that the Bears need to get younger on defense? Definitely. I would definitely look into getting rid of Idonije after the season and look into either drafting a DE or signing one through free agency so long as this organization doesn't decide to go about things cheaply. I would cut Anthony Adams because he has been one big disappointment this season, no question about it. I would draft another CB somewhere to replace Peanut and maybe sign another one through free agency somewhere down the road to replace Jennings. The top priority, no matter what, is defense, because if you have your best athletes playing defense, 9 times out of 10 you will find yourself in ballgames. Still, we also need to draft a WR in the first round next year in the worst way possible, and possibly go after another OL.

McCoy also has a ton of weapons around him and a better OL. No one fears our WR's like they do D Jax Maclin and Celek. And you don't have to account for Cutler like you do Vick. W/Philly you have to cover the whole field. You put Forte on that team, and he's dominating all other RB's.

Yeah, with the players they have on both sides of the ball it's a surprise to me that they've stuggled as much as they have so far. I just have a feeling that their problems are over and they're ready to kick ass and take names and ours is the first ass in line.
We've been playing some sloppy ball even when we've won games and we've been downright pathetic at times when we've lost. We can't afford to be either of those on Monday. I'm hoping we've turned a corner just like Philly has and that with Bennett's return and the better line play of late the passing game will get a shot in the arm.
People are gonna tout what Forte is capable of but let's not forget that it was Cutler's arm that beat them last year but that was before they added to more pro-bowl CB's. Right now these guys may be the toughest game on the remaining schedule and we need to play like there were hellhounds on our tail if we're gonna beat these guys.

I seem to remember the Eagles coming into the game last year on a big winning streak and looking like they were going to be the team to beat coming out of the NFC. Look what happened there. The Bears made them look like fools. What everyone is forgetting is that the Eagles OL still is shitty; remember that DeMarcus Ware sacked Michael Vick four times last week, and if we load up the interior of our DL with Okoye and Paea, it could be a long day again for Vick.

No one is saying we can't beat them but this year we play them in Philly not Chicago. They're a good team and they're playing at home and that automatically gives them an edge. We beat them last year because we played one of the best games we played all year that day. We'll need to as well or better this year that's all I'm saying.

NFL.com news: Eagles RB McCoy searching for new agent, new contract
Running back LeSean McCoy is searching for a new agent, league sources said Sunday, while he also seeks a new deal from the Philadelphia Eagles.
McCoy filed papers with the NFL Players Association this week, ending his working relationship with agent Drew Rosenhaus.
It was a tricky situation for Rosenhaus, who also represents Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson. McCoy and Jackson have out-performed their deals and are in line for big paydays (as franchise players at the least). This isn't the first time McCoy has fired Rosenhaus, so expect the agent to continue recruiting the running back.
McCoy has emerged as one of the premier running backs in the NFL, rushing for 754 yards and scoring 10 total touchdowns this season, and Philadelphia is running the ball more than in years past under coach Andy Reid. McCoy also is devastating in the passing game, making him a complete back. He's expected to immediately begin interviewing new agents.
However, Rosenhaus did add another young rising star to his huge client list, signing Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, a 2010 first-round draft pick.

Mark my words. We will win in Philadelphia. I'm giving the Joe Namath guarantee. And if we don't win, then I will gladly drink "The Bears Suck" Kool-Aid.
