Not Much Confidence in a Bears Win From Local Scribes................
Tribune writers pick 'em: Bears at Eagles
8:49 p.m. CST, November 6, 2011
Brad Biggs (7-0)
After rocky start, the Eagles have a multi-dimensional offense clicking with Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy presenting a host of matchup challenges for an up-and-down defense.
Eagles 31, Bears 20.
Matt Bowen (6-1)
Lovie Smith has had success playing Cover-2 against Michael Vick, but the big-play ability of wide receiver DeSean Jackson versus the Bears' secondary will be the difference Monday night.
Eagles 24, Bears 16.
David Haugh (5-2)
Wrong time for the Bears to face a more talented team hitting its stride. If the Eagles' deep threats don't kill the Bears defense, LeSean McCoy and the running game will. A phrustrating night in Philly.
Eagles 29, Bears 23.
Madden 12 (4-3)
In a simulated game run by EA Sports for the Tribune, Michael Vick ran for the tiebreaking touchdown with 2:08 left. Matt Forte rushed for 187 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown burst.
Eagles 17, Bears 14.
Vaughn McClure (5-2)
The Eagles seem to be catching fire at the right time. It will be difficult for Jay Cutler to go deep. LeSean McCoy might be the second-best running back the Bears face all season.
Eagles 24, Bears 20.
Dan McNeil (7-0)
The Eagles lead the NFL in rushing; the Bears give up 5.2 yards per carry. The Eagles have speed at receiver; Bears safeties are green. And it's on the road on "Monday Night Football." Free money.
Eagles 37, Bears 20.
Fred Mitchell (5-2)
The Bears will need takeaways and precise play on offense to avoid a road loss to the emerging Eagles. The offensive line must continue to protect Jay Cutler and create holes for Matt Forte.
Eagles 27, Bears 20.
Mike Mulligan (6-1)
A physical, grinding running game combined with screens and check-downs will work on offense. Sadly the Bears defense will drop its safeties so deep Philly will own the middle of field.
Eagles 27, Bears 20.
Dan Pompei (5-2)The Bears have had the Eagles' number, but this is a different Eagles team. The Bears could have a hard time handling the Eagles' pass rush and their running game, led by LeSean McCoy.
Eagles 27, Bears 23.
