Maybe its simply a case of what Dagan said, that Cutler got panicked from being so used to getting pressured that he tossed from his back foot. Hard to give a solid number without re-watching the game, but i recall seeing plenty of throws that were bad motion, back foot, odd angles, but because of his cannon arm, he got it where it needed to go.
Time will be the true determination of the success of the OL. One good game is not a trend, they need to repeat this success...and as short face bear pointed out, the Lions on sunday will be an excellent test for them, to see if they really have improved, or if Philly just has a crappy DL

R williams dropped a potential TD/long pass. Kellen Davis isn't nearly as fast as Greg Olsen (making the trade much more idiotic), Knox is irrelevant, Sanzenbacher is showing he's a rookie and Hurd is not needed. Cutler has had plenty of time, and much more than several of the QBs we've been playing, and if not, he's been able to scramble well enough. I think our standard for OL is so distorted by having horrible lines over the years, many aren't seeing the vast improvements. BTW, how many blitzes against us were successful last night?

and Hester had a couple of drops and only 12 yds. I see where you're going with this and I like it

The OLine has improved. It freakin' needed to! It's still not anywhere near where it needs to be for this TEAM to have a serious shot at -and through- the play-offs. And that's if we get there. 'Lacher said it himself; the team has to do well from here on if it wants to have any hope of getting in. Barring a monumental collapse (and boy, would I love to see this) The Pack aren't going to slow down and are too far ahead to think a division title can be had. It's wildcard or nothing and, as the season wears on, opponents are going to get nastier and more desperate.
I want this team to win out so badly... GAH! But that's unlikely, even with pro-bowl guys all over the roster.
I just can't bear to see JA floundering through another off-season, man! *sigh* Go Bears!!

What were the Packers chances last year of beating us in the playoffs at Soldier Field? ... only to march on to, and Win the Super Bowl?
We were ALL Stunned.....
Even if we don't have the fire power to make it to the Super Bowl, I would love a chance at PAY BACK! .... and BLOW THEM OUT OF IT! :-)

When the line has been so bad for so long when you see some good things (and there were many) you get excited and tend to think "yes it's a decent/good line now". There is MUCH more improvement needed. If the line is consistent and does this vs. the Lions then the improvement it has made is that much more validated.
Nonetheless, still much, much more work in pass pro to be considered an above average O line. At this stage I am really glad we are finally average vs.piss poor.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

I have seen a tremendous amount of improvement out of the offensive line in the past three weeks. First of all, did any of you notice the number of times we didn't flank the line with any TEs? We weren't blocking all the time with a full deck! Before this week - hell, before the Minnesota game - we had to flank the offensive line with TEs in order to hold off oncoming rushes from the opposing defensive lines. This is the third reputable defensive line we have beaten this year, with the other two being Atlanta and Minnesota. If we beat Detroit, that will make four reputable defensive lines that we will have beaten, thus validating this offensive as a solid unit.

We'll see how they play ..... after not coming off a bye week, when everyone's healthier and not nursing the week to week dings. They have looked better I'm not discounting that, but I'm also not gonna jump on the false positive bandwagon just yet. A few decent games does not a good line make. And not until they prove it EVERY week for a long time ( the only true measure ) will I believe that they've turned the corner. Other teams O-lines do it all the time. This one hasn't .... yet. Better ? Yes. Proven ? No.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

The Bears' offensive line has been giving Cutler ample time to throw the ball for the better part of three games, while blocking well enough to ensure that Matt Forte can run downhill longer than that. We have at least half the blocking down pat (run blocking). The other blocking type, pass protection, is coming along. I will agree with you that they are still unproven, but you will have to believe that if we beat Detroit this weekend and the offensive line gives up fewer than two sacks, we will have turned a major corner on the line.
