I predict a Bears victory over Detroit. We will make up for what happened last time. I'll say that we will win 27-17.

We cannot stop Det from scoring; we have to put up 28+ points and hope that we can rattle Matthews into not throwing deep jump balls to Megatron. I could see us winning 28-27, or 32-28. It won't be a blow out though...unless the turf is garbage and the weather is bad and it neutralizes their big play wr.
But this thread is about tonight and it's a big time positive win. Bennett 5 targets 5 catches; he's our wr's version of Forte, money. Good job. And again, I'd like to say that keeping 7 in to block, and letting knox/hester use there speed, and let RW/Bennett use there size against the DB's.

Jay Cutler a really really really good QB when he has a little time to throw the ball. It was a physical game last night and the good guys won. Eagle fans look like tools also. lol The only negative thing I will say is get rid of that play where we direct snap it to Bennett. Vick is still winless vs the bears.

The d was shaky at times, but stepped up when needed. The redzone offense still needs some work but looking much better. Barber is really shinning. Speath getting pushed into Cutler was not good. The run game looked great except the two fumbles and couple of sailed passes. Cutler did good thinking on his feet and made some ugly plays come out with good results. Defense did shut down a crew of good WR's. Jackson was held for most of the game and Maclin got some good plays but for the most part not a big factor. Good on the DBs. No sacks but good job by the DL for getting in Vicks face. Hopefully they can do the same if not a little better against Detroit.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!
I am here to chew bubble gum and kick butt and I am all out of bubble gum!

Great job by Rod Marinelli in his game plan! Urlacher said it himself when speaking about their gameplan to CONTAIN Vick! I still think it's amazing that Vick is 0-4 against the Bears. So many other teams struggle against him.
Awesome protection for Cutler, great job O-Line! When Cutler has time to throw the ball, he's lights out!
Bad Boy Dave Toub! I never have anything negative to say about Toub because he's such a genius as Special Teams coach, but he definitely stepped on his dick by not covering the gunners on that fake punt. Looking at that stacked line you can see he was trying to make something happen with a block. He should know better! The Eagles clearly called an audible when they saw those wide open gunners.
It's wonderful to finally have Bennett back, man we missed his presence!
Great game for Briggs, he never quits.
This looked like a different team out there, the Bears have their confidence back with this huge road win, I had this pegged as a loss, but they came into this game confident and their performance showed it. I hate Philly fans and love to see their team lose! We need a win against Detroit and we are back in this.
I've stopped calling for Lovies head since late last year, but I'm still calling for Martz's head because I don't like his fit for Cutler's style of play. Even though he's FINALLY shown an ability to adjust by setting up great protection packages for the pocket, he almost always reverts to Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde whenever we get a 10 point lead. He still tries some silly shit and it gets us into hot water sometimes. (What the hell was that Wildcat crap he pulled last night?) Anyways, Angelo will always be on my shit list and he needs to go regardless!
Great win Chicago!

Great game plan by Lovie/Marinelli on containing Vick yet again. 0-4 vs Da Bears... we are his Achilles heel.
The O-Line played a solid game. I don't see a need to bring Gabe back anytime soon from injury until someone flatters.
Briggs/Peppers... their motors never stopped until they heard a whistle. Great game by those two vets.
Cutler showed that with time.... or while outside the pocket... he can be money. Two great "improvised" plays late in the game as well by #6.
Also congrats to Robbie Gould on passing Payton for second on the all-time scoring list for Da Bears. Saw he dropped though to the 3rd most accurate kicker in league history.
...and finally suck it national media. Only Ditka picked Da Bears!

Ya I've been on the fence w/Lovie leaning on the get rid of him b/c of his game day, lack of, adjustments and his cronizism. But that guy just finds a way to do more w/less then any other coach. I'm still on the fire JA bandwagon b/c he consisantly is the reason Lovie is in this situation; but it looks like we might be able to sneak into the 2nd wildcard spot; and making the playoffs 2 years in a row is a big step into consistancy I expect on this team.
Cutler, Forte, Bennett are the keys to this O and we need to build around them; continue to strengthen the OL; get a big time WR that can make Bennett a true complimentary WR; or get legit downfield threats that force teams to defend them leaving Bennett 1 on 1.
This is by far the most complete win against a legit team we've had in a long time; they weren't suffering from major injuries; and we just took it to them. The fact that this team, and it's coaches didn't melt down w/the way the game went at the end of the 1/2 or beggining of the 3rd qtr was even more impressive.

Great post Riczaj, you're totally echoing my sentiments regarding JA and Lovie, I was on Lovies case for a couple of years because of various issues and just plain frustration, but he has really been hamstrung I think by JA's decisions.
Reading a lot of posts from different opposing teams' message boards, fans are constantly calling for the firing of head coaches. This is around the league, Phil's fans are even calling for the firing of Reid because of last nights game and he's a good coach in my opinion.

Philly/Chi too different situations. Ried is a far better coach, game day hands down. Only Belecheat has more 10 win seasons over the last 10yrs, and is the only coach to have more wins the Ried. Ried is a stud, but that said there is not enough post season success for the talent they posess. Reid actually helped revolutionize the sport into a primary passing game. But if he cannot get to the post season and make deep runs, maybe it is time to move on.
Lovie isn't near the game day coach of Ried, but his teams just find a way to win. Zach Zaidman on the score said of the 26 qtrs of seasons that Lovie has coached as a bear or whatever he's 22 and 4 in those quaters; if this is confusing he was talking about how Lovie breaks each season into 4 qtrs 4 games per qtr per season. But he is a bad game day coach, he doesn't make good in game adjustments and is horrible in challenges. So after bad games you can look at the coaches and just shake your head. I have to believe if Lovie was given talent on a consistant basis like that of Philly or GB or NE he could win mulitple SB's and easily be the best coach in Chic during the SB era; and have that titled solidified for most of my life.

I will add some thoughts to this
1. Conte is a solid tackler and starter material. I misjudged him. He needs to get better in coverage on zone plays. When Tillman lets a guy go cause he is out of the zone Conte has to be aware of that and cover that guy. Other then that he is the best tackling safety we have had on this team in a long time. Perfect angles and raps the guy up
2. Paea is a beast. He has a high motor and has the size to play NT.
points one and two really make me feel good of this years draft
3. Louis needs to stay at RT and Spencer at RG. If you watched the game we straight up dominated the right side. All the big running plays happened on that side. Carimi has to be that LT.
4. Hester injury is unfortunate but watch the offense get better without him in starting line up.
5. Looks like Briggs is back in shape two good games in a row.
6. someone needs to tell Urlacher he is past his prime lol. The guy is still playing at elite levels.
