NFL fines Earl Bennett
The NFL is getting a bit out of hand with these fines for uniform violations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bennett told ESPN 1000's "Football Night in Chicago Show" on Tuesday his teammates warned him of the potential fine before he the took the field. "(They told me) you know you're going to get fined, right?" Bennett said. "I said 'yeah, I haven't played in a while so I might as well just take this one.' "
"They were too orange I guess."
Bennett caught five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles in his first game back after suffering a serious torso injury in Week 2.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who played with Bennett for one season at Vanderbilt, offered to pay the receiver's fine during an appearance Wednesday on ESPN 1000's "Waddle and Silvy Show."
"Yeah, I'll pick up the tab. Why not?" Cutler said.
Still think the Briggs fine for wearing the Stars/Stripes gloves and shoes on Sept 11th(vs. Falcons) game was total B.S!!!
If he plays like that we should open a PayPal account to pay his fines. I heard Cutler said after that game he'd pay it for them but someone stated that these fines come directly from the player's checks.
I agree that the NFL is too strict with their uniform policy, but the players know what the rules are. If they break the rules they deserve the fine. My question is, since fines are donated to charity, do the players get to right that off their taxes? (That question is half kidding/half serious. lol)
I do believe the NFL Commish came out and said they wouldn't fine anyone who wore the star/stripe tribute gloves or cheats during opening weekend.
None of my posts on this forum have been aided by the use of deer-antler spray...
They can't hit anymore without a fine either. Pretty soon it will just be flag football with no blocking allowed.
NFL = NO FUN league
I was thinking the same thing. If you can play like that wearing orange shoes just keep wearing the damn things. We'll reimburse you Earl.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
Who gives a flying fuck about what Saint Roger does? He derives great pleasure from fining players. Pretty soon, he'll Sniffometers attach to the asses of players to detect the scent of stale farts so he can fine them and then donate the emissions to science.
Stupid fine and overkill.
