lol my bad math; was a long day at work; and I was about an hr past needing sleep.
Soul still hasn't answered either concern though. If this was an option; why didn't Tenn use it? and What is to prevent Forte from telling the Team for every fine you put on my; my price goes up that same amount? Really it's a not a good tatic for the team to use for contract negotiations b/c it's easily turned back on them.

If the bears tag forte, he does not have to sign the tag right away. So he could hold out til the last day of training camp and then sign it. He can not be fined for holding out if he is not technically under contract

It's not like he's going to have to show up to Halas and drop 30K off. I also bet every day he charges him that; his required pay goes up by about that amount to sign also.
Just because they can fine him doesn't mean they will but they can set the meter running as a way to coerce him into accepting their deal. Hopefully the Bears will come up with a better offer and Angelo will stop calling his first shot "generous". To him maybe it was but in comparison to the going rates it was a low offer. They'll need to up the guaranteed $$$ before Forte will bite.
Frankly I'm shocked that Tenn. gave in to CJ after some of the comments Bud Adams made in public. Of course the don't have a Jay Cutler at QB so to my way of thinking CJ means even more to them than Forte does to us. It's just gonna take more negotiating to get Forte's deal done. He didn't have a great game against Detroit and if othe teams focus on shutting him down he'll be hard pressed to get anywhere near the record for total yards in a year which is what he's shooting for I'm sure.
Still, if the Bears franchise him and he decides to stay out of camp and the preseason like CJ did even if they don't fine him what kind of shape willhe be in to start the season compared to how he came into camp this year? The Bears would be smart not to let it get to that point and roll the dice on his staying healthy and productive for at least another 4 years.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Valid points but it's the only card he can play to try to get THEM to quit fiddle f'kin around. THEY'RE the only ones holding this up.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
