Rivers is going to come out throwing like a maniac so we better be prepared for that with san diego in town.
Vincet Jackson - Antono FAT Gates - Malcom Floyd is still "iffy".
This could be a situation where you WANT Rivers to pass as his only target is Jackson.
And Peanut should be there with backup.
BTW ... keep your eye on Vincent Brown WR Dago ... 97 yds. and a TD against Oakland.
They have a Hester also ... he also scored a TD against Oakland.

The Chargers are a good team that seem to get off to a bad start annually then turn it around. There's a three way tie in the AFC West so they're still fighting for top spot. You know there won't be a wild card from that division so it's winner take all. One advantage we have is that we play them at home and they're not a cold weather team. Pray for a cold windy day.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I'm praying we kick the liven shit out of them.

You look at the SD roster and wonder how they can't be 7-2. Then you watch them and you see why--marginal ST, way too many TOs, and a serious case of snakebitten choke-itis. The only negative I can see for us is, as Soul pointed out, they're playing for the "lead" in their (very weak) division. Of course, 8-9 (or even only 7) wins will probably take that division especially with the QB issues going on in KC, Oak, and Denver, so its not like this is an "absolute must win" for SD either.
Rivers is playing like crap lately as a pick-machine and this is a must-pass kind of team. After snuffing out Vick & Stafford and making both look really bad in the process, I like our chances...
...especially at home
...especially since the forecast is for a cold and drizzly weekend
Put up a +2 or better takeaway/giveaway margin and we got 'em.

Many years San Diego has come out slow and finished fast so if they're gonna turn their season around this is where they have to do it. They're undoubtedly the best team in the AFC West they just haven't played like it so far. They're as dangerous this week as we were against Philly. They need a win and they're gonna fight to get one. We just have to hope the defense has another knockout again this week because we don't want to get into a shootout with them.

Fortunately, our pass D has been really good the last 3 games against some quality pass offenses so I hope SD's traditional "strong finishing run" can be held off just one more week. I agree that they are the best team in the AFC West on paper at least and have often played below their talent ceiling.
As for a "shootout", we aren't likely to win one against any quality team. Isn't that the type of play-calling/game-plan by MM that led us to disasters in weeks 2-5? Even with Bennett back, we simply don't have the WR firepower (thanks alot, JA) to win games 38-35 sort of like GB did vs. SD a few weeks ago. When we avoid giving up big plays and force TOs, we can beat anybody. When we don't, we look really average out there.

Ryan Matthews RB S.D. has not done a whole lot since the bye in week 6.
Mile Tolbert RB S.D. is the guy to watch.
