Nick Reed waived

More moves: In addition to placing Chris Williams on injured reserve, the Bears on Monday also swapped defensive ends, waiving Nick Reed and signing Chauncey Davis to a two-year contract.

Reed appeared in seven games this season, recording 11 tackles and one pass break up. The 6-1, 248-pounder originally entered the NFL in 2009 as an undrafted free agent with the Seahawks, playing in all 16 games as a rookie with Seattle.

Davis appeared in 96 games with 25 starts in six seasons with the Falcons from 2005-10 after arriving in Atlanta as a fourth-round draft pick. He recorded 204 tackles, 10 sacks, two interceptions, eight fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles while also scoring two touchdowns on a 26-yard interception return and a 24-yard fumble return.

I noticed they had Addison playing yesterday in place of Reed. The guy was all over the place in the preseason but just never got that same pressure once the season started. Too bad. I liked his hustle but he got his shot and couldn't take advantage. Next up was Addison. Gonna have to look up this Davis and learn a little more about him. At least the guy has a starters credentials.

Not surprised that CWill is on the IR. There goes his season. Probably a similar injury to the one that kept Urlacher off the field in 2009. Tell me this though. Why when we lose one of our starting five Olineman does Angelo go out and sign a DE? LMAO! This may have been in the works anyway but the timing just makes me laugh.

Hey Jerry.........it's the OTHER side of the ball that needs your attention right now. We have plenty of Dlineman but in case you haven't noticed were only one more inury away from playing OMG again. And to think we could have had a 2010 pro-bowler like Brian Waters backing up CWill if he'd just thrown the switch on him before the Pats did. My intense dislike for Jerry Angelo grows stronger with each passing day.

Davis is 6'2" 270-275 lbs and was a 4th round pick by Atlanta out of Florida State. Not much on his resume as a pass rusher and pretty much a lifetime reserve. I think this move tells us that Wootton is nowhere near ready to play yet or he would have been playing yesterday instead of Addison.

Just some added depth while Wootton heals. Too bad about Reed though. I had some hopes for the guy but I guess his lack of size just was too much to overcome.

I don't think he's ready to play yet. He's a slow healer. It took him all of last year and the offseason to get back into form and he was tearing it up in camp when the idiots decided to put him on kick coverage. Maybe by the end of this year he'll be whole again.

Funny thing is Soul last year JA did the same thing when there were injuries I believe. It's like JA thinks "hey now's the perfect time into getting a defensive lineman!!" Seriously WTF. Reed>Omiyale>Tebow lol.

He won't be back before Sunday jackie. Plan on things being the way the were in the 2nd half of yesterdays game. EWill is gonna start at LG and this week we'll move somebody from the PS up to replace CWill. Probably Horn.

LOL he fills open roster spots with DE's whenever possible. You can never have too many of them and too few OT's or OG's the way he thinks shorty.

He was about to come back and then broke his hand so that has shelved him again.

Maybe Nick Reed can play ST for Detroit now, seems to be a former Bears trend.
