No Bears game is a trap game. Just think: The Bears are competing with the Lions, Falcons and Cowboys for the wildcard and I don't care what anyone says, chasing down Green Bay for the division (we all should be rooting for the Lions on Thanksgiving.)

The Bears are trying to win out and I think they have a great shot at doing it.

Remember who beat us for the NFC Championship and reverse it.

I wouldn't put much stock in regulars sitting out a Wednesday practice this far into the season. Peppers, Briggs and Hester all sat out the Bears practice today too but I bet all three will be playing come Sunday. We just need to keep from letting down after coming off two bug must win games. We're a better team but they've got talent and their no pushover even in Chicago in November.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

    Patchwork continues on offensive line

Coming off a game in which it hardly allowed it quarterback any room or time, it is increasingly likely that the Chargers offensive line on Sunday in Chicago will include three fill-in starters, including either a rookie or a player who practiced with the team for the first time on Wednesday.
Center Nick Hardwick and right tackle Jeromey Clary are the only two starters presently standing.
Scott Mruczkowski will play left guard in place of Kris Dielman, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to lingering concussion symptoms. It is all but certain that Brandyn Dombrowski will play for left tackle Marcus McNeill, who last Thursday suffered his second neck injury in four games. And at right guard, in the likely even that Louis Vasquez (ankle) and Tyronne Green (hand) can't play due to the injuries that kept them sidelined Wednesday, the Chargers will start either Tony Moll or Stephen Schilling.
Moll was signed Tuesday and on Wednesday participated in his first regular-season NFL practice since last season. Schilling, a sixth-round draft choice, spent the first six weeks of the season on the practice squad and has played one snap this season.
Philip Rivers was rarely unfettered last Thursday against the Oakland Raiders, getting sacked six times, knocked down another six and under pressure on 30 of his 47 passes.
“They have a better chance to prepare in terms of getting ready this week,” Norv Turner said. “So hopefully we’ll handle things better.”
The Bears have just 18 sacks, but their 87 knockdowns and hurries rank third in the league.

    Sporting News:
Week 11 picks: Red-hot Bears won't allow Chargers to warm up

If it weren't for those perfect Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears would be the hottest cold-weather team in the NFL. Over the past four weeks, the winds of change have blown into Chicago to turn its team into what Green Bay was last season: the most dangerous wild-card floater in the NFC.
Now the Bears draw the coldest warm-weather team in the NFL, the San Diego Chargers, at Soldier Field. Considering how much Philip Rivers and the Chargers are struggling with turnovers, it plays right into the hands of the Bears.
    Game of the Week

San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears. Only three teams have a better turnover differential than the Bears’ plus-9. Only two teams have a worse turnover differential than the Chargers’ minus-8. When you do the math, this is a horrible matchup. The Bears have found a great combination to force takeaways. They are getting Julius Peppers and the front four to bring good pressure, which allows the seven men who drop into coverage to capitalize on mistakes.
Rivers' line is hampered by injuries, and his key receivers—Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates—haven't been consistent. Rivers has already tied a career-high with 15 interceptions, and he is bound for multiple picks in this game.
As for the Bears' offense, it won't be anything special—just a whole lot more of running back Matt Forte and quick, efficient downfield throws by Jay Cutler. The Bolts will leave the Windy City all black and blue. Bears 27, Chargers 17.

    4:15 p.m. ET (CBS) [TD="class: team_logo_2, width: 76%"]San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Chicago Bears (6-3)
We interrupt this lovefest between Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler for a football game. And not a particularly pretty one. The Bears haven't lost since Week 5. The Chargers haven't won since Week 5. Patterns continue.

    Chargers at Bears
Florio’s take: The Bears are peaking at the right time. The Chargers are bottoming out at the wrong time. Regardless of whether the Chargers kick to Devin Hester, they’ll likely be heading home with the Bears’ collective boot in their behind.
    Florio’s pick: Bears 34, Chargers 20.

Rosenthal’s take: It’s taken two months for everyone to realize the Chargers just aren’t very good. In nine weeks, they don’t have one truly impressive game. The defense has fallen apart faster than Florio’s PFT Picks record. [Editor's note: We will soon be hiring a new writer.] It’s also taken people a while to realize the Bears are legit. Their offensive line injuries won’t matter against San Diego’s poor pass rush.
    Rosenthal’s pick: Bears 30, Chargers 20.
