Roy Williams & Johnny Knox: Shuttin' me up!

He is making plays on the ball today against the Chargers. Which was always his main weakness. I'm loving the heart (and hands) he's showing.

And Roy Williams after an early drop has definitely switched into Beast Mode. The guy has always been pretty much uncoverable, but just had too many drops. We're seeing what happens when he hangs onto the ball.

If these two along with Bennet keep this up, the Bears will do some major damage in the postseason.

Oh yeah, 30pts again today...and all by the offense.

I agree Stark; it's like the return of Bennett gave him a wakeup call on how he needs to play. He looked like a legit threat at the position, as did Knox...and all of that is b/c of the threat of Bennett. When you have to 1 on 1 cover our WR's they either have the size or the speed to beat you.

About time we got some play out of those two. Today we finally got a whole game out of our split end position. They both still make me nervous but great game by both guys. Is it too much to ask for them to do that every week?


Dago game planned to take Forte and Bennett away and they did a fair job of that but Cutler made them pay with Knox and RWill. Ya' gotta hand it to Cutler. He's playing the best fooball he's played in Chicago now that he's getting an offense that works to his strengths. Anybody notice that he threw off the wrong foot on that TD pass to Knox? What an arm!

Probably the best game the offense has played without having Forte ruling the run game. Give Cutler some time and the ability to move around and he's a whole different QB.

3rd quarter observations: A sick catch by Knox

Third-quarter observations with the Bears leading the Chargers 31-17:

*Johnny Knox said he was sick at the end of last week and was vomiting throughout the day. Well, just like Devin Hester last week, Knox didn't appear to be bothered by the illness. His 24-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end zone was one of the best grabs of the year, by far.

*Quarterback Jay Cutler appeared to get banged up a little bit midway through the quarter, but it didn't stop him from diving in for a 1-yard touchdown during the same drive. Who said he wasn't tough? But the Bears might want to consider Marion Barber from the 1-yard line next time around.

*Roy Williams caught three passes in a row during the scoring drive that ended in Cutler's score. He didn't look so fluid with his motion, but at least he made the catches after having at least one drop in the first half. If the Bears can get production like that from him the rest of the season, then he was well worth the one-year contract.

*Maybe all the Charles Tillman Pro Bowl talk had an adverse effect on the veteran cornerback. Or maybe not. Tillman has struggled while covering Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson after shutting down Calvin Johnson a week ago. Phillip Rivers found Jackson for a 5-yard TD in front of Tillman, and Jackson got between Tillman and Chris Conte for a long gain. But Tillman made up for some of his blunders by punching the ball away from Chargers running back Ryan Matthews and recovering the fumble, leading to Knox's touchdown catch.

*With long snapper Patrick Mannelly out with a knee injury, the Bears will rely on fullback Tyler Clutts to handle those duties. He's done a solid job so far, but he hasn't been in a high-pressure situation quite yet.

*Matt Forte's struggling running the ball for the second straight week. He has just 18 yards on 10 carries. Would be smart to get him going in the fourth quarter, especially with the lead to run some clock.

Wonderin' if that QB sneak is where Cutler broke his thumb???????
