Anyone Else Notice Rookie QB's are Doing Better Than You'd Expect?....
Maybe it's just my perception but this group of rookies seems more NFL ready than most other years. Maybe that's why so many went so high in this years draft.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I saw some highlights of the Titans game and Locker looked good. Ponder has played some decent ball for a very bad Viking team and Cam Newton is tearing it up. Guess the scouts and personnel guys new their stuff. Maybe we get lukcy and Enderle turns out to be pretty good too. I just don't want to find out now. Hoping that broken thumb Cutler sustained isn't that bad but I don't know how a broken thumb can be good.

Its nothing new...i think its the surprise factor. Every year you see a rookie QB come out of the gate and take defenses by surprise, only to be reigned in as the season progresses and teams have tape on them.
If QBs can do it for multiple games throughout the season, then THAT shows they are the real deal, sure.

Just seemed that this class is ahead of others in being prepared to play in the NFL. I remember how it used to take guys a couple of years or so to get used to the speed of the game at this level but this whole group seems to have come in and hit the streets running. I guess we'll see what it looks like at seasons end. Maybe I just think they're doing better.

I think it also has to do w/the fact the rules are so passer/wr friendly.

Could be. Well Hanie doesn't have much more game experience than a rookie so maybe the charm will settle on him too. Damn but losing Cutler is bad luck right now. Just when things were starting to roll. God is definitely a Packer Fan.

This year was bound to happen, we've had a couple fairly decent no inj years; this is the karmatic kick in the ass for those. If they keep running the same plays for Haine as they do for Cutler(moving him around boot legs etc) I think he'll do just fine. He doesn't have the arm of Cuts, but he is still very athletic and still hit our wr's in their middle routes.

He's a good QB and he's accurate but he doesn't have Cutler's arm and ability to fit a pass in where it has no business going. Martz needs to finagle with the offense a bit and maybe we need to pull off some unexpected stuff no one has seen this year. The greatest advantage Hanie has is there's not much regular season film on him. Oakland on the road will be a tough opener for him.
