We Can't Catch a Break, Cutler Has Broken Right Thumb................
Cutler suffers broken thumb on throwing hand
By Vaughn McClure, Tribune reporter 8:22 p.m. CST, November 20, 2011
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand during Sunday's 31-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers, according to a league source.
It remains unclear how the quarterback suffered the injury or whether he might be sidelined and for how long.
Cutler played through the injury and completed 18 of 31 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns, with an interception.
Bears coach Lovie Smith said there were a couple of bumps and bruises after the game but didn't mention Cutler's injury.
More details to come.

Guess we'll here more on this later. So far no word on the severity but it sure as hell didn't see to stop him from having one hell of a second half. First Mannelly and now Cutler. We just can't seem to catch a break today on the injury front.

Quarterbacks in the pros play through broken thumbs all the time, soul. I hate to bring him up nearly a year after he finally retired, but look at Favre. I know of at least one point in his career in which he played through a broken thumb. I would expect Cutler to do the same thing as well. If he is as tough as he likes to be portrayed, he'll gut it out and play through the injury. Today's performance was proof positive that he can have a very strong outing with that kind of injury. We assume that he played through most of the second half with the broken thumb. If that's the case, he was dynamite.

Ironic, the line keeps him clean and he gets injured.

Vaughn McClure is saying via twitter that Cutler is out 6-8 weeks. I'm on my phone and dont feel like linking it. Look up his or other Bears' writers' twitter accounts.

my bold prediction, this is all overblown and cutler missed 2-3 weeks tops. this seems overly ridiculous

Yeah and he was an interception machine too. We've finally gotten Cutler out of that habit so don't even remind me of how Favre played with a broken thumb. I wonder if he broke it on that vault into the endzone??? Well, no sense worrying about it until we know more.
