Hanie will do fine as long as he's not expected to replicate Jay Cutler. One thing fans will notice almost immediately about him is his mobility. He's just as capable of making plays wtih his feet as Cutler and he has a very good arm. I watched him in games against Wyoming is his senior year at CSU where they flushed him out to his right and while scrambling he threw 35 yards downfield back across his body to an open man for a TD. Like Cutler he can throw on the run and my guess is he'll have to.
Gotta trust in this guy because he's the one who has to lead now and Martz needs to let him. The only reason for bringing in a vet is to backup Hanie not to replace him the minute he has a bad series.

Okay, gentlemen. We've all thrown in our two cents worth on this matter. Why don't we come up with a list of predictions from everyone on how this game will turn out.
Here's me. Bears 24, Raiders 20. It'll be close, but had Cutler been in the game, I would say that the Bears would easily win. But since we're starting a brand new quarterback who has little experience and had an up-and-down preseason, well, I just won't buckle and say unequivocally that we win in a blowout. Of course, strangers have been known to happen, such as the Bears blowing out the Saints in the 2006 NFC Championship Game and this year's beat down of the Lions at Soldier Field.
Sorry Dags I never predict games or scores. What I will say is this. The Bears defense needs to focus on allowing no more than 20 points per game, and if 16-17 all the better, until Hanie has had a couple of weeks practice and game experience with the starters. The less pressure he has on him to put up more than 20-24 points right now the better.
