Down off the ledge: The Bears will still win 11 games
I'm still kinda bummed about Jay. I wanted him to be a major part of our regular-season push and get all the props he deserves. But he's out until at least the last week of the season.
But I feel the Bears are still an elite team because as I said two weeks ago, the Bears are BY FAR the most complete team in the league. They truly don't have a real weakness. Even their secondary is playing so much better. They protect the QB much better than they were. They pressure the QB. Cause fumbles, pick the ball off, return kicks and punts better than anyone and have the best FG kicker in the league. Even the receiver corps is becoming (wait for it)...dangerous.
This is why losing Cutler isn't the deathblow that it seems. Only 1 team in the league I would say is truly unbeatable without him and that's Green Bay. Any other team, if Hanie doesn't throw multiple picks, the Bears can beat with good defense and special teams and scraping up 2 TDs and some FGs for the win. Still feel we'll sweep the AFC West, and beat Seattle for 11 wins. I don't think we'll beat the Vikings at the end because we won't be able to improve our playoff positioning with that game and we'll be resting starters in the 2nd half. But Da Bears WILL go 11-5 and be the top wildcard.
Exhale, Bears fans.

I was never on the ledge to begin with. The only team I think it will be damn hard to beat without him is the Packers and that's because I don't know that we can keep them from outscoring us and I can't see Hanie generating 30 points a game in a pared down passing offense. This just evens up the odds in the other 5 games. We should still win 4 of that 5.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
