You're right, I don't know what hanie can do. That is why I don't have confidence in him. Have to wait and see I guess.

I'm optimistic because I've watched him play more then just about everyone else on this site and I'm saying that he's a good QB. Confident but not cocky. Good arm, mobile and he plays withing his limitations. Cutler will give you more heart attacks with some of his attempts than Hanie ever will. He's also very competitive and he doesn't lose his cool when things aren't going his way.
We could do a lot worse for a backup than Hanie. We could have Rex Grossman. 
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I agree and am cautiously optimistic. A few weeks ago Oakland was in a similar situation vs. Denver in facing a known "wanna run" offense and a new, inexperienced QB. Well...Denver ran all over the Raiders despite stacking the box and won the game.
I have to believe that Barber & Forte are a better running attack than McGahee and that Hanie is a heckuva lot better passer than Tebow.
If Hanie plays smart with screens and short play-actions w/o throwing dumb picks in trying to be hero, we should win. And outside of the GB matchup in Lambeau (a sure loss), Oakland is our toughest game left on the schedule IMHO.
