I don't know about the pace because we forced a fair amount of punts which Lechler stuck right up our ass. He is good. But you're right about not making the stops when we had to. Two 3rd down plays killed us on that last drive. Especialy the first one where we had them 3rd and 5 and he completed along the left sideline in between three Bears defenders. If we stop that one we get the ball back down 5 points with 4 minutes to go. Instead they go on to score their only TD against a worn down defense and we have to play catch up from 12 points down. We kept digging ourselves in instead of out.

Martz and L. Smith need to work together and if simple plays work...keep doing it!.....just look how Tebow is doing, and Denver has a defense similar to ours.
I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly it was stated that Hanie's non-out of bounds was not a play that was able to be challenged

I heard the same thing CBF, it wasn't challengable; it should but it wasn't. That spot was horrible he was clearly inbounds.

In addtion to our own mistakes I thought we caught some bad breaks in this game. There was a PI against RWill that was never called. A helmet to helmet on a play that may have been nit picking but if that was us it would have been called and there were also a couple of borderline roughing the passer calls that went uncalled.
If there is such a thing as gaining an extra edge from the 12th man yesterday the Raiders won just about all of those calls. Take those in combination with a couple of picks that were right in Jennings hands and he couldn't hold them and there goes the game. At least two FG drives would have been prevented by those picks. Jennings needs to start playing catch with McCown after practice and work on his hands. He's not the turnover artist the others are.
