I was tongue in cheek about cutting Omiyale but it really wouldn't hurt and we can audition depth now that the season is over.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

Soul you really laying this one on martz lol. It's not his fault hanie blows. Martz been lobbying for a backup qb since he was hired and never believed in hanie. Ja budget pinching ass would only allow for Collins. Point the finger at the gm for the trash backup.

Haine looked just fine when Martz started calling plays to Haine's skillsets, roll outs and quick 3 step drops. Mcnabb; seriously have you watched him play the last two years? He's horrible. Martz's dislike for Haine is palpable in the playcalling that is going on out there. Haine is more of a WC qb then a AC qb; yet Martz wants to have him take 5-7 step drops(which were barely working for Cutler) and scan the field until the last possible second. It's a poor OC gameplan for a adaquate, at best, backup qb w/no little experience.

Defense held them to one FG.

Something is going on inside this team because an offense that's that poorly prepared and plays that poorly against a team like KC isn't getting hooked up with something. You could tell at the begining of the game that Hanie wasn't hitting on all cylinders when he missed hitting Bennett on that 4th and 1 after KC fumbled the punt. Once again why call a pass that early on a critical down and bring a drive to a halt.
Martz is leaving and we all know that so it's time to take away his playcalling and give it over to someone else. If it was up to me I'd fire his ass tomorrow after that performance today. Hanie made mistakes last week too but he also played well in the second half. This week every thing went downhill all game long. Did we even have 200 yards total offense.
Even without Forte this is a game we should have easily won just like we should have easily won last weeks game. A horrible play call last week did us in and a horrible game plan and lousy execution did us in this week. For a team that's in a must win situation every week that was pathetic!
The defense shows up and plays there asses off every week and if Conte would have noticed the jersey nest to him was blue and there wasn't a white jersey within five yards of him then KC doesn't even score any TD's! There is no one else you can blame on the coaching staff but the OC for a game like this. Three fvckin' points??? Gimme a break. Martz is lame duck and a few of us wondered earlier today is he wasn't just crazy enough to lay it down and cost the Bears a shot at the playoffs.
I think we all got that answer today.
This is what happens when the coaching staff does a sh!t job of preparing backups ( especially QB b-ups ) to play. It's happened time and again under Lovie because first teamers are the whole focus and the backups are ill prepared because they never get enough reps. Some teams do a good job of prepping b-ups ( Packers, Pats etc ) and some don't. We're one of the teams that don't. I can understand it with certain positions, but NOT when it comes to QB's. That's the 1 position you gotta give extra time to. Hanie's been here for a few years now. He should be better prepared by now than he is, and that's NOT his fault. Whatever ... same old same old with this regime ... like they don't think their QB is gonna get injured .... playing FOOTBALL !!!
Well hopefully better luck next year.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I'm not even going to comment on the ridiculous play of this game--it was clown school to the max, primarily on O and the usual suspects (Martz, WRs, OL, etc.) I agree with the title of this thread--it would take 3 of 3 vs. Denver, Seattle, & Minny to even have a chance now for a WC and would be one-and-done even if that tall order somehow happened--the season is over for all practical purposes.
This team will finish disappointingly ~ 8-8 and 3rd in NFCN so may as well play the next 4 games with a view toward assessing those players that need additional PT to be evaluated and prioritizing needs looking towards next season.
Martz: I doubt there's any MM defenders left out there now--he must be replaced without question.
QB: Hanie certainly hasn't done himself any favors so far to warrant a new contract but he deserves a chance to show what he can/cannot do over the next 4 games before making a final decision. No point in bringing in a new QB now. Let Hanie play and decide in the offseason whether he's worth a #2 spot or whether we need to find a new backup based on 6 starts rather than just 2.
RB: See what KBell can do outside of ST, especially if Forte is still hobbled. Get the guy some carries and experience. It looks the chart of Forte, Barber, Bell, & Clutts is about the only place on O that probably doesn't require much change.
WR: A total mess. The only players I see as "keepers" are Bennett, Hester (primarily for returns), and MAYBE Hurd for STs. Sanz has failed to live up to the promise he showed early on. Nothing needs to be said about what to do with RoyWill. Knox has some return ability and occaisionally can make a big play with his speed, but is otherwise a waste. He can't run routes, is useless over the middle, drops too many balls, and absolutely refuses to fight for any pass that doesn't literally land in his chest. Whatever market value he may have, get what you can for him and cut your losses here. I doubt JA will do it, but he needs to sign a bonfide #1WR in FA and draft a prospect with size (Toon? Dwight Jones?) in rounds 2/3 for future development. This unit needs a major overhaul, not just a tuneup.
OL: Despite improvement and the drag of injuries, it's still a glaring problem. LL had a bad game today and is going back inside anyway when Carimi returns. Webb would make a decent backup swing OT as he has starting experience at both positions but can and should be upgraded (or at least competed with). Need a starting quality OT out of FA minimum and maybe a developmental interior player out of the draft for depth. Obviously, there's no way OMG should ever even get within 100 miles of Bourbonais again.
DE/LB: Aging here and need some youth out of the draft to bring along. Unless we have a chance to grab a can't-pass-up stud OT, this would be a good use of the 1st round draft pick.
The (only) bright side of a late season post-Cutler-injury meltdown is that it looks like our draft picks will be moved up into the middle of each round. It's sad that we aren't 9-3 right now as we should be and heading toward Cutler's return in a wildcard game, but it is what it is...

I agree that much of Hanie's poor showing thus far falls on Martz for setting him up to fail with poor playcalling given the skillsets and WRs we have. That's why the team should give CH 4 more starts to assess him correctly in the offseason and not waste any time on trying to sign/play another QB--this season ends on week 17 no matter who is taking snaps the next 4 weeks. Today was a must win game after Martz fumbled away last week.

Roy Williams must go. He sucks.
Mike Martz must go. He vouched for Williams. He sucks as well.
Lovie Smith must go. He accepted Mike Martz as his offensive coordinator. He sucks, too.
Jerry Angelo must go. He's always sucked.
Ted Phillips... dammit. Alright, the buck has to stop somewhere. And it's at Angelo's desk.
