So, who are the players we keep on offense?
Obviously Cutler and Forte are going to stay around and deserve to, but who else would you keep on this team?
for me its:
Louis
Spencer
Spaeth
Clutts
Barber
Carimi
Webb (with competition)
Bennett
maybe Sanzanbacher
other than that, I think everyone else is expendable or worthless

I would say it depends on the new OC for the fringe players. But as for the core guys will be Cutler, Forte, and Bennett.

That's a good list there Halpy. A total overhaul is what's needed. However it comes during a time where the D could use one as well b/c of age. I hate to say it but it seems like the SB window is slammed shut for the next few years barring some very good luck.
The wr corps outside of Bennett needs overhauled. Knox can be traded for value, Rwill cut. I would keep Hurd for ST. In FA get a WR as well as draft a WR. It's also imperative to fire Daryl Drake.
Need to draft OG/C high. Another TE is needed as Davis is inconsistent.

we are trying to re-sign knox lol

QB: Cutler
RB: Forte, Barber
FB: Clutts
WR 1:
WR 2: Bennett
WR 3: Knox
TE: Davis
LT: Webb
LG:
C:
RG: Louis
RT: Carimi
I know people will be upset about Garza and Williams, but I think that they are the guys that we can upgrade the easiest and while they are both solid they are not dominant.

If it was left up to Lovie we would keep everyone. How many more years do we have to list to " PLAYER NAME is our guy and we will make improvements"? Which is funny because I still have not seen any real player developement from this coaching staff. Except Tice who is doing his best to polish a turd.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!

I agree.
The WR corps is a disaster that requires major attention. The only WRs worth keeping are Bennett as a #2, Hester as a slot/returner, and Hurd mostly for STs. RWill is a disaster and a must-cut. Sanz would be an "on the bubble" guy for a 6th spot next year only. Knox is a waste of time as a wideout for the many reasons we all know. He probably has some value to someone as a return man and occasional deep threat so get whatever trade value he might have and unload him too. I doubt JA will be this aggressive, but we really need to sign a bonafide #1 WR in FA and draft a prospect with size & speed for future development (Dwight Jones?) in round 2/3. Daryl Drake and Mike Martz need to shown the door for sure as well.
The OL needs another starter--and the position that needs upgrading the most (once injured players are back for next year) is Webb's. Carimi will be back at RT which moves LL back to RG where he's more physically suited to compete with Spencer. CWill was playing great at LG and he will be back with EWill as the backup. Garza can hold down OC until his replacement comes along (whether it is Spencer or a new player for 2013). That leaves the toughest position to fill at LT. Webb must be competed against at minimum to keep his job which is going to require either a FA signing or a 1st round pick (Reilly Reif?). JW would make a fine backup swing tackle as he has starting experience at both OT spots and is a big upgrade there over Omiyale (automatic CUT).
Problem is, as you mentioned, that we also need a true receiving-TE and some youth at a couple of aging defensive positions too (LB, DE). And unless Hanie somehow shows something these last 4 weeks, we are also gonna need a #2 QB. The key injuries to Cutler, Bennett, and the OL this year have really exposed how thin the team is...does JA get that?

I don't know if JA was handcuffed in FA by ownership but it's got to change. Also he needs to cycle through offensive prospects as much as his fetish on the defensive side of the ball. He can pick up all the lower depth LB's, ST's, and DE's in the lower rounds which is his strong suit.
FA should be for getting a WR, DE, and CB. The very first rounds should be WR, OG/C, LB. I am glad he cut the Manu's of the world but all that seemed like a no-brainer considering he's had a decade to practice. Get some better wr scouts or advisors too btw.
Any playoff or SB window is going to hinge on FA without doing a Philly. And for Pete's sake CUT OMIYALE!!!!

You've got to let Hester eat a WR slot so he can remain on Sts.
I think Barber is the best back-up Forte's had. Ever.
