    Same Old Song..............

Guys I'm done watching this team beat itself every week out of sheer stupidity and the worthless play of vets who should be able to be depended on. Three straight games against teams we should have and could have beaten and we end up with three losses instead.

The defense goes out and plays it's ass off every week but the offense has as many 3 and outs as they do first downs and constantly shoot themselves in the foot. Hard to figure out how Hanie could take charge in that NFCC games last years yet look so lost at times now. Of course it would help if we had somebody out there who could actually hold onto the ball every once in a while. Turnovers have killed us every game.

I'm beyond ordinary disappointment now. I'd say my feeling border more on complete disgust at how this offense has booted an entire season with it's inept play since Cutler went out. Is Martz's offense so difficult to run that a guy whose been in it for almost two years can't play better than Hanie has? Do some of you finally understand just how lacking in offensive talent we are once we get past Cutler and the Running Backs?

I really can't add anything constructive anymore. These past three weeks have been the most pathetic display of offensive football I've ever seen and while the defense plays hard it always fails to make the key stops at crunch time. Off course if a vet RB wouldn't run out of bounds and vet CB wouldn't give a WR a 20 yard cushion on a key third down maybe we could have won. There's no excuse for 6 and 7 year players to be playing the dumb.

I'll catch you all around somewhere on down the road. For now I'm outta here. At this moment in time I just can't get behind this team any longer. Until we weed out the coaching and front office problems this team will never be a consistent winner. So long.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Hanie was playing against a Packers team that thought they had the game won and was NOT playing full tilt. The td to Bennet was a decent throw but the Packers db's got caught looking at each other thinking the other guy was gonna make the tackle. That wouldn't have happened in the first or second quarter or if the game was close. They were goin thru the motions at that time. That's why I was never convinced that Hanie was any good but others were looking at it thru rose colored glasses and started getting giddy about a guy who had never proven anything. I've been rooting for him ever since Cutler got injured. I was hoping he could at least manage this O , move the ball , and put a few points on the board like Steve Fuller used to. He's only 3 games into his career playing in REAL fb games ( not pre-season where he's done ok at times ) but , since he's not a 1st stringer, they've virtually ignored him and he's unprepared to play. Some of that is on him ... most of it is on this stupid coaching staff and a dumb GM who didn't think it was important enough to get a backup QB who was at least competent ( never has look at his track record with all the scrap heap backup QB he's had here ).
So ... yet AGAIN ... the philosophies of the numbnuts who have been running this team for the last DECADE, has come back to bite us ( cuz who needs a good backup QB ... QB's don't get injured ). Yeah ... it's ONLY football. What could go wrong ?
So I'm joining you. They're my team so I'll sit here and watch their games the same way I've been for the past few weeks ... in incredulous numbed stunned silence not expecting anything to get excited about.
    Great job " management ".

I am so disappointed that I cannot write much, but Soul you have caught my feelings pretty accurately.

It is an indictment of our talent level and our front office that as soon as Jay Cutler gets hurt this team unravels at the edges and cannot even execute basic football maneuvers.

I am embarrassed to be a Bears fan today and again they have broken my heart.

So we can draft more DLmen and safeties and corners and LB's. Never mind doing something smart like the Packers did in drafting Rodgers and letting him learn while developing his considerable skills. Say Case Keenum is on the board . Talented QB's are hard to find right ? and it's the most important position on any fb team so the Bears have their chance to select him and groom him. Do they make this pick ? Past history says no. I say yes. YES YES YES for cripes sake do something right for once when it comes to backing up the most important position on this team. He may not like sitting for a few years but it's the best thing for him, and he's there if Cut gets injured. And he comes from a throwing program and has proven he can do it ..... well.
Draft a QB in the first round for once so we don't have these bums ( we've had ) waiting to drive this Offense into the ground.
The scrap heapers are there for a reason. They've proven themselves as such. WHY is it always one of THESE guys as the backup on this team ? Makes NO sense.
Draft a REAL QB for once . It's a good investment. First rounders DON'T ALWAYS have to be instant contributors . That's the argument they always make and I'm done buying it. Not when it comes to drafting a good solid capable backup QB, which is something this team has needed for years.

You all can dislike me and my posts as much as you fuckin' want but facts are facts. This team has pissed away 3 straight games and with that any hope of getting into the playoffs. Right now I see a real probablity of at least two more losses in the next three games and once again a pull back from the brink of another top notch season back into mediocrity just as has happened so many times before in the Lovie Smith/Jerry Angelo era.

Those of you who are content with this feel free to keep drinking the koolaid. I'm choking on it in disblief right now.

There isn't one person to blame, there's more than enough to go around from a GM who can't stock his team with enough offensive talent to weather the storm against three of the weaker teams in the NFL to a HC who once again proves how bad a game day field manager he is by going into a prevent Cover-2 that makes a Peyton Manning out of Tim fuckin' Tebow. And finally to veteran players who can't learn not to make rookie mistakes after 7 years in the NFL and an OC who consistently outsmarts himself and his own team more than the other guy.

Here, Rosenbloom's article says it all. I can't add anything to it that says it any better and since I really can no longer find one thing positive about this team and this season this will be my final say for the year. Sportswriters get paid to watch this shit so they have to. Fortunately I don't so that's it for me. Somewhere down the road after I stop being so disgusted with this mess and can contribute in a more meaningful way I'll be back but until then sayonara. Enjoy the rest of the season guys.

Looks like Barber and the Bears choke away the season

Steve Rosenbloom The RosenBlog 7:55 p.m. CST, December 11, 2011

    It's not Tim Tebow.

    It's not divine intervention.

It's stupid and bad play by the Bears.

Marion Barber was the worst offender of both stupid and bad. He wasn't alone -- the defense, the coaches, the embarrassing quarterback and receivers deserve to be smacked -- but Barber was the worst.

First, Barber ran out of bounds to stop the clock with less than two minutes to go. If Barber wasn't so mind-numbingly stupid, then the Bears would've killed Denver's hope and the growing belief that Tebow was born in a manger.

But no. Barber stopped the clock. The Broncos got the ball back and kicked the game-tying field goal, their 10th point in the last 2:08 of regulation.

But that was nothing compared to Barber's horrific choke in overtime, fumbling inside the Denver 40, well within Robbie Gould's range at altitude. The Broncos recovered and eventually kicked another field goal. Ballgame. Season.

Oh, it might not officially be the end of the Bears' season, but they stink right now and they're getting worse.

The Bears took the field knowing their wild-card competition in Detroit and Atlanta had won. Now the teams over which the Bears had tiebreakers are in playoff spots instead of the choking, embarrassing Bears.

This isn't just Barber's fault. No, it's the coaches' fault, the general manager's fault, the quarterback's fault, and the defense's fault.

Yeah, you heard me, the defense's fault. That unit takes a good deal of blame for this choke. Whether it's the chicken decision by the coaches or the players' failure at the end, but their silly prevent defense prevented nothing except a Bears win.

They let a quarterback who's actually a tight end look like a quarterback. Tebow killed the Bears down the stretch after looking like Cade McNown for three quarters. Tebow killed the Bears because the controlled pass rush all game wasn't backed up by tight coverage. Bears defensive backs challenged almost nothing at the end. Even a thrower as bad as Tebow can play catch, and he did.

But you know what's worse than the Broncos' fake quarterback?

The Bears' fake quarterback, that's what.

Caleb Hanie can't play in this league. Neither can his receivers. Bears playoff hopes ride on a bunch of players who can't play in the NFL. That's some scouting by the general manager, huh? We all can only pray there's truth to the story about Jerry Angelo's likely retirement. He has been exposed more than ever at the most excruciating time.

Hanie and his receivers were bad on Sunday. Bad again. Bad as usual. They have combined to help kill the Bears the last three weeks, all losses since Jay Cutler went down. Connect the dots.

Without Cutler, the Bears can't afford mistakes. But all they seem to do is make mistakes. Hanie overthrowing wide-open receivers. Receivers flat dropping gimmes. The Bears' failure to convert something like 16 straight third downs going back to the entire game before.

These Bears make some of the worst errors at some of the worst times. That kind of stupidity from a veteran running back is unacceptable. I don't know how you let him on the team plane home.

That kind of pathetic quarterback murders hope. I don't know how he's on a roster. I don't know how a lot of players are on that roster.

I don't know how the head coach can say he saw progress in his fake quarterback. I don't know how the head coach can say his team wasn't playing a prevent defense when his defensive backs seemed to be 20 yards away from being 10 yards off the ball.

But it kind of sums up these Bears in this death spiral. Bad offense and dumb decisions make for a lethal combination.

    And no postseason.

First of all, I'm going to address you again, soul, but this time, I will do so publicly. What you are doing is childish and immature. Yes, the Bears suck - we all get that - and they may well be the very worst team in the NFL at this point. But you CANNOT give up on your team. I may be a Yankees fan and used to winning championships all the time and therefore expect the same from my other favorite teams, but I will be damned...no, I will be God damned...if I allow a losing streak like the one we are currently in take me down to the depths of depression and sorrow. We may not be able to control what goes on on the field or in the front office, but we will always have the Chicago Bears in our hearts and minds forever, no matter what.

Soul, you most likely are going through a mood swing like I am at the moment. Right now, I'm experiencing manic behavior, having little need for sleep at night and I'm just being a pain in the ass to each and every person I come across. That being said, I know enough to just remember that football isn't life itself, that it's just a game. Sometimes I think you become a little delusional in the fact that you take each and every game, whether it's a win or a loss, personally, and that's not healthy. Two weeks ago, my high school alma mater lost the state championship game by three points on the last drive of the game when the quarterback was sacked and he fumbled the football. I went ballistic afterward, and did some things that I shouldn't have. I regret what I did now, because those things made me look like a total and complete dick hole. I have only ever reacted that violently twice - once during the state football championship game two weeks ago, the other time during Super Bowl XLI when we couldn't do jack shit to score because of Rex Grossman's ineptitude.

Just remember soul, you are leaving a community of friends here who like you and consider you part of their online family. I don't know when you'll be back, but you need to step back, calm down, and reassess yourself before you do something so drastic. Acting stupid gets you nowhere in life other than in the doghouse.

Seriously... are you leaving or not? Make up your mind. Cuz the only thing more annoying than a swan song thread... is a swan song thread that keps getting bumped by the author.

Game Day: "I can't take it anymore... I'm giving up... I'm out of here! I can't put up with it anymore... Defense plays so hard... but they always screw up... etc etc etc..."

*only two people dislike his post*
*a couple people agree but say they are staying*
*someone says they are staying so they can keep bitching*

ONE DAY LATER: "Oh, I see that everyone around here dislikes my opinion... well... you don't have to like my opinion, everyone... I'm serious... I left yesterday and never came back... and this is why! blah blah blah..."
"If you can't take the heat, keep f**kin dat chicken."

That being said... just stick around. We got a raw deal. A bad hand. Two injuries to our two most important offensive players. PLUS! Angelo might retire or get fired. This is the silver lining, I guess. haha
