Jerry Angelo's General Manger's Guide:

Step 1. Draft 1st round bust, trade 2nd, claim you're a genius in 3rd-4th rounds.
Step 2. Hang onto 1st no matter what. Get nothing of value for 2nd, waive remainder.
Step 3. Acquire biggest name in Free Agency, surround them with journeymen.
Step 4. Fire up PR machine to proclaim all the steps you've taken to ensure a winner.
Step 5. Fail.
Step 6. Rinse.
Step 7. Repeat.

That thread I posted on Lovie Smith's sugar coating the loss in The Chicago Tribune says it all. It's fucking ridiculous that we have to sit through year-after-year of shit signings and even shittier draft picks. I sure as fuck hope that Jerry Angelo gets out of the game after this season is up because he has singlehandidly destroyed the Bears' chances for this season by not signing a quality backup quarterback for Cutler in case he got injured. Now, we're going to be lucky to win a game to finish the season out because we have no fucking offense, and that's just sad when you consider that we were 7-3 last month.

Truth be told, gentlemen, I was picking the Bears to go all the way to the NFC Championship Game against the Packers this year before the injury bug took its toll. Yeah, Jerry Angelo took care of us at the running back position by signing Marion Barber (I say leave Barber alone, he made a mistake by going out of bounds and that fumble was a good strip by the Donkeys' defense), but he didn't go out and get a veteran QB who can throw worth a shit EXCEPT for Josh McClown, who is one of Martz's asshole buddies from Detroit. I fully expect to finish this season with a 7-9 mark and get a draft spot somewhere within the top 15. Hopefully we can then either trade up and draft Blackmon (which I highly doubt), or draft Michael Floyd. Somehow, though, I doubt highly that Angelo will even go after a WR in the first or second rounds. That's because he's a fucking turd.

Yep ..... and to make matters even worst ... our Defense has seen it's Golden Age. These guy's are getting older now, and this "Window of Opportunity" is all but slammed shut for quite a few years to come.

Angelo COULD HAVE gotten Trent Green, or maybe even Boller. But they certainly wouldn't come here for less then 4 million for a year contract.
So, once again.....we take the CHEAP way out and don't sign anyone ... keep Caleb, and pray to GOD that Cuttler doesn't go down.
