    Louis:
He did an admirable job of filling in at RT in mid-season but has really stumbled badly there the last 2 games. His size/height make him more suited to play OG and he looks like he could become a quality starting OG/backup OT next year when Carimi returns (which is a steal considering he was a 7th round pick). It looks like Louis, CWill, and Spencer should duel it out for the 2 starting OG jobs...with LL and CW being the likely winners & Spencer becoming a backup OG/C.

    Webb:
The guy would be a near ideal backup swing OT since he has substantial game day experience at both positions and is young/athletic/raw enough that he still has future upside to start again if needed (still a steal for a 7th rounder). The LT spot has definitely been the weakest link this year on a consistent basis and should be upgraded this offseason either in FA or via a 1st round pick.

    OL 2012:
Bring in a quality OT via FA or draft and have him compete with Webb & Carimi for the 2 starting jobs with the loser (prob Webb) becoming the swing. That leaves 4 interior players (Garza, LL, CW, & Spence) to compete for 3 jobs with the loser joining EWill in the 2nd tier. It would be nice to groom a future C--a few good ones appear to be in this years draft--since Garza is up there but I don't think we can afford to use any of our 1st-3rd round picks on the interior line unless JA does some magic in FA to sign BOTH an OT and a WR. We have pressing needs on D too.

    [LT] Carimi or FA/1st rounder
    [LG] CWilliams
    [OC] Garza or Spencer
    [RG] Louis
    [RT] Carimi or FA/1st rounder

    [Swing OT] Webb
[Reserve OGs] EWill, Spencer or Garza
    [CUT] Frank the gate

rt-Webb has improved a ton since last season, but I'm not at all convinced he should have ever been moved from RT
rg-Garza Putting him back in his natural position only makes us stronger.
C-Brewster Franchise C will struggle as a rookie, but he has two good fallback vets in Garza and Spencer
lg-C Williams Dude is legit! An absolute, zero question impact OL and already one of the best guards in the NFL. Been saying it for a while, but you put his athleticism and head in one spot and he will succeed.
lt-Carimi Should have given him first crack at it this season, hopefully the longer training camps will see him at least get a look.

    Louis-Swing tackle and backup OG.
Spencer-would be one of the absolute best and most valuable interior backups in the league.
E Williams-Steady in pass pro, three spot interior backup.
"Player X"-Secondary swing tackle. Could be a rook, could be a vet -- don't care.

Whats interesting is we have drafted TWO LT's in the FIRST ROUND the last few sesons,

and neither of them starts at that posittion.

We also signed a Center to replace Kreutz who doesnt play Center.

Next up at HALAS HALL : Draft a T.E. as a kick returner.

Lets get the old flying wedge back in the rules.

I am on a similar page as you, but maybe a little different personel,

LT: Webb, I agree that he may be better at RT but I think it is too much to ask for him and Carimi to switch.
LG: Williams, has earned more time at LG.
C: Brewster, representa physical upgarde from our other C.
RG: Spencer, has arguably been our best OLmen this year and at 28 he deserves to start and create soem chemistry wth Carimi.
RT: Carimi, big bounce back year from injury.

OT: Louis, will compete for RG and LG while backing up at the OT positions, if Webb struggles he goes to RT and Carimi to LT.

OG/C: Roberto Garza becomes our everything backup on theinterior OL and prolongs his career.

OT: Draft Pick, a young developmental OT that can push Webb.

If Webb does not continue to develop

    LT: Carimi/Draft Pick
    LG: Williams
    C: Brewster
    RG: Spencer
    RT: Louis

I'm surprised you still see LL as primarily an OT who can also play OG. IMO it's the opposite--he could be a killer athletic OG who can also play OT in a pinch if needed. Having him play RG makes more sense to me as you have a proven vet in Spencer who could always take over if LL falters or loses the job clearly in PS. Having 3 athletic OGs who can pull (CW, Spencer, & LL) would do wonders for the running game as we saw for a while before CW got hurt.

As for Webb's play at LT, it can and should be upgraded. He is improving (starting from a low level as a 7th round pick from a minor college program) but still requires too much help, still gets beat too often, and still commits too many penalties. A team improves by bringing in new talent that pushes the depth chart from the top down, not the bottom up. JA really needs to bring in another quality OT (prob via a high draft pick) to compete opposite Carimi. If Webb flat out wins, then fine, but o/w he would be a heckuva swing OT as he has substantial gameday experience playing both ends of the line. Omiyale would then be pushed completely off the depth chart which is where he should be as we all know.

I would just hate to see this team start 2012 satisfied that the starting OT job opposite Carimi is not in need of serious attention. This OL, and I know it was racked by injuries this year, is still mediocre-to-average esp on pass pro--it gives up too many sacks/pressures and commits way too many penalties. Our franchise QB has suffered a concussion and an MCL tear directly attributable to inadequate OL play and we are very lucky it hasn't been way worse due to Jay's durability. We have all seen how losing your starting QB is a huge blow to any team--it cost Oakland and Chi the playoffs very likely--so I see an OT as a #1 draft priority since it's pretty hard to sign a starting quality one in FA.

    1[18] WR Kendall Wright [Baylor] 5’10” 200lbs.

The recent time with Caleb Hanie at QB has exposed a WR core that cannot make plays and that Jay Cutler was making look better than they are. The Bears have a need for a #1 WR regardless of size. After signing Johnson they have provided Cutler with a bigger target that can jump for the ball and run the fade routes in the end zone. With the selection of Wright the Bears provide themselves with a legitimate professional WR that can get deep and catch the ball. Wright has been compared to Mike Wallace and Santonio Holmes and projects as a deep threat on the edge. Think of Wright as Johnny Knox with great hands and the ability to run more than a go route and the deep comeback. Wright as the deep threat, Johnson as the big body and Bennett working the slot the Bears will have completely revamped a bad WR core in 1 offseason.

W/the draft you have to, minus qb in the 1st, go BPA. If we pick 13th and the best player is a Safety DL or LB you grab them. In the 2nd go straight bpa; if that means grabbing a qb so be it. That is how depleted this team's talent level is.

In FA grab a OT and G for starting/depth and get a damn big boy WR if one isn't resigned w/their team next year....hell grab 2 if you can afford it.
