Is size that important at WR?

Looking over the list of draft eligible WRs coming out in this draft many of them have great size.

    Justin Blackmon [6'1" 210lbs]
    Michael Floyd [6'3" 225lbs.]
    Alshon Jeffery [6'4" 232lbs.]

But the player getting the most buzz right now seems to be a smaller WR in Kendall Wright [5'10" 195lbs].
Wright has been getting comparisons to Mike Wallace and I am wondering if people would except a smaller WR that has Mike Wallace type skills.

I would say you want a variety of different types so that when you play the packers you got the muscle to get the jump balls but against the Eagles you got speedsters taking advantage...

also depends on qb. If you are stafford and you depend on the prayer jump balls all game long it would help to have the bigger targets

I think we have plenty of small guys but if he is cant miss how can you pass up on Wright?

Knox and Hester are not WRs and I would be happy if we could be in a position not to playe either of them.

I think that the Bears need to add size, but I would not be opposed to a smaller #1 WR.

Give me Mike Wallace on the Bears in a heart beat.

Knox and Hester are not wrs? Sure according to us. But according to the bears Hester is our big money wr and Bears are trying to extend Knox. So got to look at all the facts that both those guys are going no where no matter how logical it seems that they should. I think we need some variety but wouldnt be opposed to Wallace cause I know Cutler can hit those passes and Bennet plays bigger then what he is.

WRs dont HAVE to be big...small WRs can be very effective for different reasons.

However, for your #1 Primary Receiver, yeah...you want a bit of size. I think thats the difference in opinion over size. We dont need a bunch of smaller guys with "potential," we need a bonafide #1 WR who can leap higher then most CBs

The BEARS have speedsters but dont have the OL for them to use the speed , guess they need guys that can just get open Slow but sure handed would work for them , UNLESS they the bears improve the OL TOO !

Blackmon is a likely top-10 pick so he isn't going to be available w/o a major trade-up...not gonna happen.

MF & KW look like mid-late 1st rounders and among those 2 you gotta take Floyd over Wright as we desperately need his much better size for slant ability & red zone fades...2 things our current receivers can't seem to do for squat. That having been said, note that JA doesn't like to take WRs that high and this scenario requires that JA gets serious OT-help in FA, something he utterly failed to pull off last offseason. If he does in 2012, then I'm all for taking Floyd in round 1.

If not, then JA IMO needs to sign a vet WR in FA, use the 1st round pick for a stud OT opposite Carimi (Reiff?), and draft a big WR to develop in round 2-3 (a number of good candidates out there like McNutt, DJones, Toon, etc.). I'm just nervous about any scenario that doesn't build young, first-rate talent on this OL which still is shaky despite adding Carimi and LL stepping up. Webb is still a weakness playing the key spot at LT.
